Term 2 Week 7 2013 Phone: 4943 5695 Email: [email protected] Jollybops The primary children enjoyed a very vibrant display of the wonders of science yesterday. Athletics Carnival Tuesday, 25th June, will be our School Athletics Carnival at the sporting complex at Glendale. This is for our whole school. We have not been there for a few years so we are hoping all goes well. Up to date information will be sent home shortly with all details. Should we be rained out we will have an infants carnival and a primary carnival on separate days here at school. Fingers crossed for good weather. Canteen I am very pleased to advise the new roof on our hall is complete thus we will be able to re open our canteen next week. The usual roster will be reinstated. Premier’s Reading Challenge Please continue to support the children in completing this. Hunter Animal Rescue The children from both Years 3 and 4 last week hosted a visit from Hunter Animal Rescue. They brought along one of their clients, Scruffy. Girls’ Soccer The girls played 3 games of the State Knock out last Wednesday winning 1 and drawing in the other 2. Sadly they were defeated on a corners count so they drop out of the competition. Well done girls and many thanks to our supporting parents and Mrs Pike. “Hit Nitz 4 6” Organic Head Lice Lotion and Spray We still have Hit Nitz 4 6. They are available in the office. There is a “Once Off Lotion” (for when head lice are present) and a “Daily Control Spray”. More information is available in the office.

ASSEMBLY Assemblies are on a fortnightly basis on a Tuesday at 2.15 in the hall. Parents are welcome to attend. There will be no assemblies for the rest of Term 2. The next assembly day will be Tuesday 16th July. The assembly item will be performed by 3F.

P&C Fundraising:

The P&C is holding a 'Supa Slice Drive' this term to raise funds for additional classroom resources and the installation of Wi-Fi technology in several classrooms. Order forms and further information about the slice drive will be sent home with students later this week.

Also, SAVE THE DATE of Saturday 24th August for a fun night out at a trivia night to be held at Charlestown Golf Club. Further details will be advised in coming weeks. Donations of items or vouchers/cash for prizes would be gratefully accepted. The P&C can provide receipts for donations for tax purposes if this helps your business.

THE CANTEEN IS OPEN AGAIN The hall roof is fixed. As of next week the canteen will be operating again on Thursday and Friday’s. Canteen Roster is further in.
