Get the

cost-savingson the market

greatest

With a predominant market share, the inline Tetra AlfastPlus milk and cream standardisation module is the indis-putable market leader. And the reason for its success isquite clear – it gives the lowest operational costs on themarket. But not satisfied with this, Tetra Pak has now re-leased a new version of Tetra Alfast Plus, which representsthe fourth-generation automatic standardisation system.

So now you can achieve even higher cost-savings!

HIGHER PERFORMANCEThe latest Tetra Alfast Plus not only looks different, it isdifferent. It has a new design and the new operating sys-tem makes the module simpler to operate.

BETTER CHEESEMAKINGTetra Alfast Plus increases cheesemaking profitability bymaking it possible to supply milk of exact specificationof both fat and protein content. Accurate control of fat:SNF ratio or fat and SNF (by adding a liquid constituent)allows better utilisation and control of production pa-rameters to give increased cheese yield and enhancedproduct quality.

MULTIPRODUCT PROCESSINGThe flexibility of Tetra Alfast Plus makes it ideal for use inmultiproduct processing. The module’s unique ability tostandardise fat and SNF, additives, as well as protein forcertain products, is applied to diverse foods, including:• Low and high fat market milk• Market cream• Flavoured milk• Cream for buttermaking• Fermented products• Milk for powder production• Cheese milk• Whey• Ice-cream mix• Formulated products and functional foods

Enhanced software and powerful computing enable evenfiner control of standardisation to give you unbeatableperformance. More flow streams can be handled, and in-coming raw products are also measured.

To allow you to respond quickly to ever changingmarket demands, one particular model allows the addi-tion of one or more additives to the milk stream for en-riched and flavoured products.

LONG-TERM UNIFORMITYTetra Alfast Plus forms an integral part of milk process-ing lines and delivers product to the buffer tank for thepackaging machine. It responds instantly to fluctuationsin product composition to bring it back quickly to thepreset value. The module offers high repeatability andhigh precision to give uniform product quality over thelong term.

Product uniformity fulfils many requirements. Ready com-pliance with fat content satisfies regulatory authorities.Closing the gap between actual and permitted or specifiedfat content increases profitability. And gentle product han-dling and consistent quality ensures brand loyalty.

MINIMAL OPERATIONAL COSTSA number factors contribute to the high cost-savingsobtained with Tetra Alfast Plus:• High standardisation accuracy saves fat• Maximum production flexibility• No product losses and much less sampling• Partial homogenisation• Included in normal CIP with no special requirements

for detergents/consumables• Fully automatic• Small footprint

Almost

unlimited standa capability

Tetra Alfast Plus modules are preassembled and pretestedfor rapid integration and start-up in a dairy processingline. Standardisation can include partial homogenisation. The modules cover a standardisation range from skimmilk up to 70 % with a capacity ranging from 5 000 l/h upto more than 70 000 l/h.

Modular construction and standardised components(all 3A-approved and CE-marked) facilitate recon-figuration of the frame-mounted Tetra Alfast Plus mod-ule to suit new processing conditions. Control softwarecan also be updated in line with product development.

Standardisation scope• Cream fat standardisation

• Cream fat standardisation with additives(i.e. skim milk)

• Milk fat standardisation by remixing ofstandardised cream

• Milk fat standardisation with additives

For example:

- cream for milk fat content higher than raw milk

- vegetable oil

- whey cream

• Milk fat standardisation by skim milk removal

• Milk fat ratio control of one of the following:- fat/total solids (TS)

- fat/solids non fat (SNF)

• Milk fat standardisation plus standardisationwith additives of one of the following:- TS- SNFFor example: evaporated/recombinedor filtered skim milk

rdisationRELIABLE AND LITTLE MAINTENANCEDependability built into Tetra Alfast Plus contributes toits high performance. The components are simple and ro-bust, with a minimum of standard spare parts required. There is manual backup of control valves. Module op-eration is unaffected by high pressure and high calibra-tion stability is inherent. Minimal calibration is required.

Few and reliable components limit maintenance tooccasional gasket replacement.

The flow transmitter is reliable, accurate, has nomoving parts and ensures gentle product treatment.

Transmission density monitoring is highly accurate, simple and trustworthy. It copes with variations in flowrate, pressure, temperature and viscosity.

The control valve is of hygienic design and gives instantresponse through electropneumatic action and accuratevalve operation over the total piston stroke.

The combination of Tetra Alfast Plus, separator, partial homo-genisation and ingredient addition allows almost unlimitedstandardisation capability.

instant flow adjustmentCascade Control lies behind the outstanding performanceand fast reaction time of Tetra Alfast Plus standardisation.

The most important milk constituents are continu-ously and immediately analysed by density metering. Di-rect signal reading eliminates errors caused by signalconversion to give the highest possible measurement ac-curacy. Thus Cascade Control eliminates any fluctua-tions in whole milk fat content and ensures a virtually

immediate return to the preset value or change to a newvalue through instant flow adjustment.

As can be seen from the diagram, Tetra Alfast Plusoptimises product quality and increases equipment uptime.

KEEPING YOU WELL INFORMEDTetra Alfast Plus is now even easier to operate. The sim-ple control panel is used to set and store values for thecontent of milk and cream as well as for the required totalproduction quantities. Selection can also be made forskimming, total remix, circulation, valve/cascade freezeand cleaning. Numerous preset standardisation programscan be entered.

Cascade Control immediately brings back a milk constituentto its preset value in response to any fluctuations detected. If the preset value is changed, then Tetra Alfast Plus swiftlyadjusts the constituent to the new value.
