Company overview

The company is named after the side of everest that people climb on. The logo is based on the Half Dome in Yosemite. In 1966 they started on the beaches in San Francisco and two hikers got together to make the company that is known today as The North Face. At first they were just a ski shop but in the 1990’s they expanded to include other equipment to make people get out there in the world. They always want their Equipment to go far and above normal outdoors apparel.

With all of my designs I sketched out how i wanted everything to be together and for it all to co-inside with eachother. all of the tags and all of the products match with eachother.

Company Logo

The Final logo is all about the mountians and intergrating them into the logo. I used Gill sans regular as the logos main text and added the mountian peaks with the N in “The North Face.” Adding color to the mountians helps distinguish that they are mountians and it helps the customer know that it is “the North Face.” With using the colors like i did, it gives it an upward vault and leads the eyes up the one mountian, then down, then back up the taller mountian.

The letterhead is a plain white sheet paper with the main logo and address and the other important information below it such as telephone, fax, and email. It is a very business like feel to it. In the center of the main text it has a subtle gradient of a light blue to the white of the page, and in the gradi-ent there is a cut out of the mountian logo in the middle of it. finishingit off is a hand written signature.

The business card is a one sided completely informational piece. It tells the person recieve-ing the card who the person is, what Position they hold and 4 ways to contact them, wether through telephone, mobile phone, fax, or email. To support the person that works for this com-pany, the logo is to the immedate left of all the personal information. The logo has a small radial gradient below it.

Envelope

The envelope is a standard size envelope with the main half mountian on the left side and all of the other text building off of that. It has the same feel as the logo does but with different text than “the north face.” With a partial mountian in a different hue of black in the middle of the envelope and the recievers address is ajusted to fit with the side of the mountian.

Website

WebsiteI wanted the website to be based on the clothes and the grueling conditions that you can wear them in and still be warm. I wanted it to be easy accessability and easy for people to get what is going on in it, and find what they need easy and effectively.

Social Media

Social MediaWith social media (facesbook, twitter, tumblr) growing as vast and quickly as it is i wanted to show that the logo and the compant can offer cupons and offers that they are having for that week or month. Getting the word about things that are new and that are coming out is important to getting publicity on the product.
