TERM3 maths In maths this term we have really be working our
brains to the extreme. We have been doing lots of speed maths and when MR
KEMPERMAN/ MR McConchie put some sums up on the board like this and
when everyone is ready they put up the operation that we a going to do. They
could put up X/-/+/ division. In the test we have done which was the second
last test we have done this term. Most people got about Bs and A or C+. I was
very upset but since most people did not do well with the long division with
decimals and the equally factions so were going to do it again it will be out of
21. A B+ will be 14 and an A would be 17 and above. Long division was very
hard until Mr KEMPERMAN show us how to do it. Mr KEMPERMAN has been great again
this term
Term 3 English
This term we have been working the same amount as we did last
term, but we have started to not to do the spelling words each week.
But we have had work sheets to do for home work. In class we have
been doing a lot of grammar and a text response. In the text
response we have had three practises on it and we have had the test
now. We only had to do 2 paragraphs but I did four paragraphs and
the conclusion. We had to do our text response on the three world
countries. We have done our house public speaking and I did my on
Andre Agassi. Here is my speech Hello teachers and students, my
name is Connor Kelly. I am going to speak to you about Andre
Agassi’s early life, he’s tennis career, his gran slam wins and more.
Andre Agassi’s middle name is Kirk he was born in April 29, 1970. He
won his gran slams in Australian Open (1995, 2000, 2001, 2003)
French Open (1999) Wimbledon (1992) US Open (1994, 1999) other
tournaments Tour Finals (1990) Olympic Games (1996). He became a
pro tennis player in 1986 and was 21 at this age. He was at his best
tennis capability in April 10, 1995 and No. 1. When he started world
tournaments he was rank 123 in August 17, 1992 (which is a very big
achievement at an early tennis career). His Mothers nick name was
Betty and his father’s was mike. He had two children. He was
previously married to actress Brooke Shields from 1997 to 1999.
Because they both had different ways they wanted to go like she
was a model and she didn’t know the tennis world. His mum is a
breast cancer survivor. At age 13, Andre was sent to Nick
Bollettieri's Tennis Academy in Florida. He was meant to stay for
only 3 months because that was all his father could afford. After
ten minutes of watching Agassi play, Bollettieri called Mike and said:
"Take your check back. He's here for free because I am going to
invest in him", claiming that Agassi had more natural talent than
anyone else he had seen. Agassi dropped out of school in the ninth
grade. He turned to play professional tennis at the age of 16 and his
first tournament was in La Quinta which was in California. He’s first
tennis mach He won was against John Austin 6–4, 6–2 but then lost
his second match to Mats Wilander 6–1, 6–1. And he’s career kept
getting better from this point. His earnings, where more than (US
money) $ 30 million in prize-money during his career. He also earned
more than (US money) $25 million a year through endorsements,
during his career.
Thank you for listening
Term 3 UOI
This term we have had lots and lots of fun by working and do some of the fun
assignments and work sheets which built up to our assignments. In UOI we have
done our Proposal for an energy free factory and lots more fun and exciting
work or assignments. Our proposal was basted of how we should crate our
renewable stations and how we were going to do it. On my work I got a B for my
proposal. I did my on the hydro station and there was a choice of pick out of
wind, hydro, solar and 3 more which I could not remember. Lately we have just
started our last assignment which is on creating our on theatre. Our theatre is
about how the nerds survive and get revenge on the bullies. This UOI was on
where we are time and place. It relates to the theatre because of how the
theatre has changed over time.
Term 3 goals
Individual Learning Plan
Semester 2
Student Name: Connor Kelly Year Level: Year 6
“Virtute et Labore” “Strength through Effort”
Teacher Student
Well done Connor on the effort you have put into setting your goals.
When getting organised of a morning, it may be an idea to utilise you kinaesthetic strengths and turn it into a bit of a race.
You could time yourself and keep records of your personal best times and aim to
beat them each day. You will find that if your record these findings each day your
natural competitiveness will make you want to improve and thus improve the
time it takes you to get ready. To improve your strength, an exercise I used to do religiously every day was to see how many push ups and the sit-up I
could do in 1 minute. I recorded these on a piece of paper that was stuck on my
wardrobe door and tried to beat my best each day- When I did it for the first time I
could only manage 24 of each, after a few months my best was 72 push-ups and 54 sit-ups. See if you can beat me! I applaud your efforts to improve your
French after school, I cant speak French so I cant help you all that much,
however, if you speak with Ms Turner, I’m sure that she will be only too happy to give you some extra resources should
you need them. Good luck with your goals.
Reading/getting ready I am setting a goal that I can achieve because I am going to be more organized on the days of the week. Because on Monday I have golf which is at 4:00pm. After when I come home that is when I will get my stuff ready for school tomorrow. So that I am quicker in the morning. After school I will read from 4:30pm to dinner which is usually at 6:30pm. After dinner I will do my homework. Sport/tennis/skiing In my tennis I will be practising on a Thursday and Saturday because that is when I have my training and my competition. If I have nothing Sunday I will practise. I will also practise my skiing because dad loves skiing and so does cam. Dad said that every time we can go up we will. I will mainly work on my sharp turns. Get more fit Every morning that I wake up at 6:30am I will time my self to do 30 push ups and 60 sit ups and arm work outs. I will do this for 20 minutes unless I have been hurt badly. I will time myself so that I can get better. French/after school
I do not have French at school so every now and then I will practises with my Mum after school. On Monday I have golf and home work (if got). On Tuesday I have all homework and reading. On Wednesday I have the same. On Thursday I have sport and I have to get the wood and read. On Friday I have
nothing but free time and these are after school things.

Specialist
This term we have science with MR Lander. We have MISS Cole for
library. We have MR Kemperman for sport. We have Miss Hamby for
music. We have Miss Tuner for French. In French we have had to
build our on house that counts renewable sources that power the
house. The last week of the term we have had a free time lesson in
science which was watching the movie finding Nemo was all about a
little fish that survived for a shark attack but had a disability. His
father was so caring for him that it was getting on Nemo’s back and
then Nemo did something dum and got caught by the divers. And
then he’s dad went after him and stoped at nothing. In library this
term we have made our own big books. First we had to get a story
from a different country and then we put it in a box and then made
it pretty. In sport we have been doing lots of alright actives like
rugby and indoor soccer the good ones where football and hockey. In
music we were been getting ready for our music performers with the
SMS girls and boys. It starts down from year 2-year 6.
