Years 5 and 6 Girls Tag Rugby @ Thornbury Rugby Club
On the 26th of February, 11 children from Years 5 and 6 at Christ the king attended a girls’ tag-rugby tournament with local schools in Gloucestershire. This was a fantastic chance to build a stronger team with other children. It was also a chance to meet with children from other schools.
We scored some tries and won some matches. We all got very muddy but that showed that we tried our best and had a lot of fun. We would like to thank all the parents that helped. And a very big thank you to Miss Stephens and to Miss Wright who coached us and helped us.
Let’s not forget the freebies…They generously gave us goody bags which contained medals, certificates, a mini poster, scarves and a badges. The reason they did this is to show girls that not only boys play rugby – girls are just as tough as boys.

Mrs Windeatt has worked in KS1 and KS2 and has developed a love of gardening throughout the school. We wish her all the best in her retirement.
World Book Day World Book Day is on Thursday 5th March and we would like to celebrate the day by asking everyone to come to school as a book or film character plus to bring in their favourite book to share with their friends.
