NOTES DUE: Special Swimming Scheme
DUE THIS FRIDAY
******************
Welcome to Week 6
What a busy end of year we are having at Glenreagh P.S. Stage 2 students are off to
camp at Coffs Coast Adventure Centre, Bonville for 2 days and it sounds like we are
going to have a lot of fun!! The Rally is also in town this week and our students are
eating their lunch at the show ground on Friday and enjoying the festivities. Please
come along and join them. A sausage sizzle will be available at the Recreation ground
canteen.
Special Assembly
On Tuesday 28th November at 9.20am, the year 5 students will be presenting their
leadership speeches and voting for our school student leaders for 2018 will then take
place. This day will also be the time for our Term 4 Progress Award. Please come
along and join us for this very special assembly.
Book Prize Award
Congratulations to Layla (5/6W) for receiving a book
prize which was donated by Kevin Hogan, our
Federal Member for Page last Friday. She has been
diligent in her duties as a library monitor assisting
Mrs Smith. What a surprise it was for her. We’ve
heard that she had almost finished reading her story
‘The Witches’ by Roald Dahl by Monday and was
thoroughly enjoying it.
In her own words “Much better than the movie.”
Other Dates and Special Events for Term 4
Intensive swimming will commence next week. If you have not returned your notes,
please do so.
Our annual School Presentation Day will be held on Wednesday 6th December at
1.30 pm in the stage 2 and 3 classrooms. Please join us for a picnic lunch from 12.50.
By special request, we will be holding a school ‘Hobby Day’ on Thursday 7th
December. This is an opportunity for students to share their interests and skills with
other students. The event will commence after recess. Some children have requested
they bring digital devices on the day. I have suggested this is a family decision and the
students will be 100% responsible for their own devices should you give them consent
to bring them.
The students are very excited about the school ‘Talent Quest’ that will be taking place
from 1.45pm on Thursday 14th December. We are requesting a $1 entrance fee per
student which will then be used as prize money. So …. Get your friends together kids
and start practising.
Special Swimming

World Teacher's Day Awards
Congratulations to Mrs Kim Smith who was recognised for her outstanding teaching,
her compassion and her commitment to our school and community at the recent
"World Teacher's Day Awards" at Southern Cross University. I really do consider my
staff to be an awesome bunch and Mrs Smith consistently goes above and beyond the
call of duty. A truly dedicated educator and fabulous lady. Congratulations Kim.

Chapter 1
My Adventure
It all started one morning when I got up and went outside and on the lawn layed something gigantic. I stared
at the gigantic thing on the lawn. I wondered what it was. I went inside and packed a bag to go to the ancient
rainforest. I wandered through the old ancient rainforest and I slipped down a hole and fond a land full of
giants. When I realised where I was it was already too late!!! I was in a giants TOILET. I looked up and I saw a
BUM. When the giant got off the toilet I climbed out all muckie. I found a place where I could wash off.
Chapter 2
The Land of Giants
The land of giants is so easy to get stepped on. There are so many giants and I never thought I would come
across all of these giants, especially falling, well slipping, into a toilet!!
Do they ever wash their bodies? They are really stinky and really really mean.
They smell like stinky off milk.
They sound like yelling otters.
They taste like dirt because they roll in it.
They feel like rough rocks.
They look like green dirty slime.
