Dear Families,

Last week there were reports that cars were travelling down the wrong side of Links Street after 3.00pm.

Unfortunately, cars were being directed down Links Street because of the closure of Glengala Road. This should not

have happened. The council has been contacted to correct this for the remainder of the roadworks. A reminder to

obey all traffic and parking rules around St. Paul’s.

I look forward to seeing all the mums, aunties, grandmothers and other important ‘Mother’ figures at our Mother’s

Day Breakfast tomorrow morning from 7.30am. Many thanks to Ms Mareta Parsons for all her work organising the

breakfast. Thanks also to staff for supporting the breakfast.

I look forward to joining you in the many multicultural day/family week celebrations, this Friday, May 12th – the

Parade of Nations, open classroom time, multicultural lunch and other activities. See you there!!

A reminder to check your children’s hair for headlice as there have been some cases reported recently.

The children’s reports will be sent home on Monday 19th June. Learning Conversations (Parent Teacher Interviews)

will be held on Thursday 22nd June between 1.30pm and 7.00pm. Children will be dismissed at 1.00pm to allow

conversations to begin at 1.30pm. More information will be sent home shortly.

I hope you all have a great week.

Yours sincerely,

Damian Casamento

2018 Prep Parents/Carers on Thursday 18th May, commencing at 9.15am. Please contact the office to advise if you

will be attending the session.

BEING ON TIME FOR SCHOOL

IS VERY IMPORTANT!!

There are many benefits your child will gain from arriving at school

on time.

Makes sure that your child doesn’t miss out on the important learning

activities that happen early in the day when they are most alert.

Early morning learning activity is often reading or writing your child

can lose so many opportunities to learn these critical life skills.

Helps your child to learn about routines and commitment.

Gives your child time to greet their friends before class and this can

reduce the possibility of disruptions in the classroom.

Class disruption can make your child feel uncomfortable and can upset

other children.

Arriving on time every day makes children feel good about themselves.

CHILDREN’S HEALTH Children always seem to be catching

something, especially at this time of

year. Some basic health and hygiene

tips at home can help keep children

well:

Wash children’s hands.

Immunise children.

Have a smoke-free home.

Get to know a local GP.

ST. PAUL’S MULTICULTURAL DAY – Friday, 12th May 2017

Please note that our school’s Multicultural Day will be held on Friday, 12th May. We look forward to you joining us

for the Parade of Nations at 9am in the school yard, Open Classroom from 9:30am and lunch at the parish hall at

12:15pm. You are very welcome to wear your cultural dress on the day.

NEWS FROM JMA The JMA students have been hard at work learning about the various landmarks of Melbourne. To finish up our

learning we have been hard at work transforming each class into one of Melbourne's iconic landmarks. As part of

Multicultural Day this Friday, we invite all JMA parents, carers and special people to come and visit all the JMA

rooms to view our awesome creations. The viewing will take place after the Multicultural Day parade between 9.30 -

10.00. We look forward to seeing you there!

Also on Monday 15th May, each JMA class will be participating in an Incursion run by Fizzics Education to begin

our next Inquiry/Discovery unit - 'May the Force be with You'. In this science workshop we'll look in depth at how

push and pull forces act to move objects.
