Water Efficiency in Buildings: Use second quality water - sewage or effluent treated water. Install water frugal devices Dual flushing system which discharges quantity 6 / 1& half ltrs. Install aerators in the tap to reduce outflow. Water less, smell free urinals. Install STP, the treated water: flushing, horticulture and for a/c

air handling unit . Embed from design stage sprinklers and drip irrigation system. Plant trees and shrubs which are not water thirsty. Avoid paving parking area ,install interlocking tiles with grass

in between to allow rain water to percolate in the aquifer. Soil moisture sensors

During construction Use gunny bags for curing walls to reduce consumption. Recycle curing water, for curing again after filtration.

Calculate Embodied water of building : Time is ripe to develop this concept so that the invested water

in the building is compensated in the shortest span of time to the natural eco system.
