Reflection of the Gospel:

Evidently the scribes are confused for they

attribute Jesus’ power to exorcise demons

to the devil, Beelzebul. Jesus’ response to

the accusations is to tell a parable. The

message of the parable is that division has

no place in relation to God’s will. Divided

homes and kingdoms continue to exist. This

is why God forgives sins, even blasphe-

mies. Yet no one is ever to speak against the

Holy Spirit for that would mean a demonic

spirit possesses him or her. A relative of

Jesus does God’s will.

The Deep joy is the presence of God, the presence of

God in the family and his love which is welcoming

merciful and respectful toward all.

Reflexión del Evangelio:

La guerra contra Satanás, sin embargo, no se desarrolla en

escenarios celestes o aéreos. Esa batalla se libra en el día a

día. Hay que notar que Marcos menciona la casa como el

escenario donde se decide de que lado el oyente se ha de

colocar. La casa es la unidad socioeconómica más

importante de la comunidad, y se establece por vínculos

sanguíneos o de parentesco. La casa es el espacio donde el

reino de Dios, la novedad del Evangelio, se verifica. No

se puede ser neutral, ni se puede dar por garantizada la

pertenencia al grupo de Jesús, el Mesías, tan solo por

habitar en una casa. La pertenencia ala casa de Jesús

depende de la decisión personal, no vínculos de sangre.

La guerra entablada por el reinado de Dios es un asunto

decisivo, en el que se necesita tener meridiana claridad y

ser consecuentes.

La alegría profunda es la presencia de Dios, la presencia

de Dios en la familia y su amor, que es acogedor,

misericordioso y respetuoso para con todos.

The Council thanks everyone who contributed to the Memorial Service for

Harry Moore last Monday: Brother Knights and parishioners from both

Queen of Angels and La Purisima; representatives from the Village Lions

Club and Coffee Shoppe; and representatives of the 4th Degree Assembly

54 Color Guard. Your presence and participation demonstrated heart-felt

care and concern for the Moore family.

Pope Francis, in one of his addresses, gave this

interesting question to families: “Does your

family still dream? His reflections go on as he

says: “I am very fond of dreams in families.

For nine months, every mother and father

dreams about their baby. They dream about

what kind of child he or she will be. You can't

have a family without a dream. When a family loses the ability

to dream, children do not grow, love does not grow, and life is

stifled and shriveled. So I recommend that each evening, when

you examine your conscience, you ask yourselves this question:

Did I dream about my children’s future today? Did I dream

about the love of my husband, my wife today? The pope further

shares with his audience: “Today I dreamed about my parents,

and my grandparents who came before me. Dreaming is very

important. Especially dreaming in families, don’t lose your

ability to dream (From the book, Pope Francis. Happiness in this

Life) my dear brothers and sisters, as a Christian community, we

are one family of God. Our Lord Jesus is our brother. We are his

sisters and brothers. In the gospel, the Lord, “who are my

brothers, and sisters, and mothers? They are those who do the

will of God my Father. It is on the basis of this that we are one

family. And by baptism, we are born into the family of God. It

is on account of this that we as one family should continue

dreaming. It is on this aspect of being a family that I urge all of

us to dream as one Christian community. What is our dream as a

family? This should be expressed through our vision and our

sense of mission, as we establish the Kingdom of God in our

midst. Christ was sent by the Father for a mission here on

earth, a mission that he entrusted to the church. We are the

Church, the family of God. God has a dream for us. Let us be

part of that dream as we listen to the Lord, the beloved Son of

the Father, who is our brother. And may the Spirit guide and

inspire us continually in following the dream of the Father as

expressed in the prayer of Jesus:

“May your Kingdom come and your will be done!”

El Papa Francisco, en una de sus alocuciones,

hizo esta interesante pregunta a las familias: "¿Su

familia todavía sueña? Sus reflexiones continúan

cuando dice: "Soy muy aficionado a los sueños en

las familias. Durante nueve meses, cada madre y

padre sueña con su bebé. Sueñan sobre qué tipo

de niño será. No puedes tener una familia sin un

sueño. Cuando una familia pierde la capacidad de soñar, los niños

no crecen, el amor no crece y la vida se ahoga y se marchita. Así

que recomiendo que cada tarde, cuando examinas tu conciencia,

te hagas esta pregunta: ¿Hoy soñé con el futuro de mis hijos?

¿Hoy soñé con el amor de mi esposo, mi esposa? El Papa compar-

te aún más con su audiencia: "Hoy soñé con mis padres y mis

abuelos que vinieron antes que yo. Soñar es muy importante. Es-

pecialmente soñando en familias, no pierdas tu capacidad de soñar

(del libro, Papa Francisco. Felicidad en esta Vida) mis queridos

hermanos y hermanas, como comunidad cristiana, somos una fa-

milia de Dios. Nuestro Señor Jesús es nuestro hermano Somos sus

hermanas y hermanos. En el evangelio, el Señor, "¿quiénes son

mis hermanos, hermanas y madres? Ellos son los que hacen la

voluntad de Dios, mi Padre. Sobre la base de esto, somos una sola

familia. Y por el bautismo, nacemos en la familia de Dios. Es a

causa de esto que nosotros como una familia debemos continuar

soñando. Es en este aspecto de ser una familia que insto a todos a

soñar como una comunidad cristiana. ¿Cuál es nuestro sueño co-

mo familia? Esto debe expresarse a través de nuestra visión y

nuestro sentido de misión, mientras establecemos el Reino de

Dios en medio de nosotros. Cristo fue enviado por el Padre para

una misión aquí en la tierra, una misión que confió a la iglesia.

Somos la Iglesia, la familia de Dios. Dios tiene un sueño para

nosotros. Seamos parte de ese sueño mientras escuchamos al

Señor, el Hijo amado del Padre, que es nuestro hermano. Y que el

Espíritu nos guíe e inspire continuamente para seguir el sueño del

Padre expresado en la oración de Jesús: "¡Que venga tu Reino y

se haga tu voluntad!"
