Tennis training method "Junior" Tennis training method "Junior" is designed to set the right technique in teaching beginning tennis players. The method consists of four basic training aids of different functionality, and two simplified versions. Its motto is: “Learning Through Touch and Feel”. The basics of the method is a rotatable tennis ball mounted on a movable piston which simultaneously moves inside a hollow guide pipe under the action of the spring (utility model patent of the Russian Federation № 149642). The principle is to restrict spontaneous movement of body parts involved in the impact, as well as the forming of the correct feeling of the interaction phase between racket and ball (especially in the wrist), mainly due to the use of motoric and muscle memory. On October 12, 2014 the presentation of the tennis training method “Junior” was held at the Annual Scientific Conference of specialists of Russian tennis at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow.

Tennis training method "Junior" is designed to set the right technique in teaching beginning tennis players. The method consists of four basic training aids of different functionality, and two simplified versions. Its motto is: Learning Through Touch and Feel. The basics of the method is a rotatable tennis ball mounted on a movable piston which simultaneously moves inside a hollow guide pipe under the action of the spring (utility model patent of the Russian Federation 149642).

The principle is to restrict spontaneous movement of body parts involved in the impact, as well as the forming of the correct feeling of the interaction phase between racket and ball (especially in the wrist), mainly due to the use of motoric and muscle memory. On October 12, 2014 the presentation of the tennis training method Junior was held at the Annual Scientific Conference of specialists of Russian tennis at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow.

  • It is designed to teach beginners to perform a straight toss of the ball to a predetermined height.

The most important thing in the serve is the toss. With this exercise all you need is to gently toss or place the ball into the ring. It is a fast, better and safer method to learn to toss the ball correctly, than to serve from the various positions later in the game. The training aid of three guides with clamps which can be mounted on a flat wall or gymnastic ladder (umpire chairs, etc.). The ring is set to the desired height and lateral distance in a few seconds.

The suspension training aid "The Ring"

  • When young players keep their swing more linear (by thinking of following through their shots) and get the out-front finish, it will be easier for them to control the ball later in the game.

It is designed to teach beginners classic forehand.

    The stationary training aid Forehand

As soon as they will get the feeling of hitting the ball, they can change the grip on the half-western style and add a little more upper rotation without compromising quality of the impact, using the next Training aid Topspin.

Training aid Forehand consists of two outer guides which forms the ideal path of the racquet after the ball leaves the strings (follow-through) and two internal guides for the ball, which is thrown forward as racket moves. Compulsory with this training is the eastern grip of the racket.

  • It is designed to teach players topspin.

    The stationary training aid Topspin

If by making a stroke, the acceleration and rotation speed of the ball is not the same, the piston with the ball will not move, and the simulator will move to one side.

It helps children physically feel the position of each link of the kinetic chain, especially the wrist, and they will be able to make adjustments in their actions by observing the rotation of the ball and subsequent piston movements.

It is recommended to use this training after the pupil has learned the classic forehand.

  • The suspension training aid Universal

It is designed to teach beginners and more experienced players, to learn strokes with rotation of all kinds.

By means of the available adjustments the spinning ball can be mounted on any height, have any axis of rotation and a sufficient angle of the guide pipe with the piston. For left-handed children the piston with the ball can easily be inserted into the opposite side of the guide pipe.

The basic version can be mounted on a flat wall or gymnastic ladder (umpire chairs, etc.). Another variant of it is moving along two vertical guides on the wall.

  • Training aid Manual Topspin

It is similar to the Topspin and Universal, only with a reduced diameter and weight. It requires a partner to hold the handle in position while the pupil lightly brush up on the ball to gain a feel and visual reference for creating topspin or other strokes with rotation.

    Training aid Wall-Mounted Topspin

It is exactly the same like Topspin and Universal. When it attached to the bottom part of a wall it is used similarly to the Stationary topspin. When attached to the upper part of the wall it is used similarly to the Suspension Universal.

Both training aids may to be used in limited circumstances where other means not appropriate or not profitable.

  • Tennis clay court accessories

Moss Cutter. It is made of stainless steel and applicable to clay tennis courts with a high humidity and lack of sun. It cuts a thin layer of moss.

Tennis Court Ground Anchor. It is made of stainless steel and consists of two parts: rectangular base and a core with a hook, which can move up to provide the strength for the 'center strap' and hide under ground level allowing to roll the court during spring preparations without having to damage it.

Plastic Marking Lines Device. It is made of stainless steel for standard U-shape markup lines of 4 and 5 cm. For one clay tennis court you need about 1.5 - 2 hours with this device (utility model patent of the Russian Federation 147633). For more information see http://youtu.be/LukiNrLGC7U
