Full Closure buildingA monthly clean will be undertaken, including touchpoints.

Open buildingDaily cleaning three times a day including touch points, such as: hand rails, lift buttons, switches, handles etc. Daily cleaning will be undertaken in ablution, amenity, meeting, computing, research, study spaces etc.

Non occupied spaces: Fortnightly cleaning will be undertaken in the various spaces, including touchpoints, cleaning in ablution and amenity facilities.

All rubbish bins will be emptied in line with current cleaning schedules.

No services for students. Accessible spaces, such as computer labs and research facilities for students.

Operating as usual, however some services and communal spaces have been reduced to comply with government directives and/or guidelines.

Student Guide to Temporary Building Closures

Building alarms during closuresIf you are on University premises and at any time the building alarm system sounds:

• In the event of an audible alarm in the building, occupants should leave via the nearest safe exit and assemble in the recognised evacuation assembly are, or if at night, to a well lit area at a safe distance away from the vicinity of a main entrance to the building.

• Remain there (providing it is safe to do so) and await instructions from a University Safety and Security officer or Emergency Services personnel.

If you are on University premises and become aware of a life threatening or dangerous situation: • Call 000 and report the issue to Emergency Services• Self Evacuate from the building to the recognised Assembly Area or, if at

night, to a well-lit area.• Make a back up call to University Safety and Security on 6226 7600 and

report the incident.

Can I go on campus?Following COVID-19 government guidelines, the University moved to consolidate and close many of its buildings.

A full and comprehensive list of building closures, accessible space (such as computer labs and research facilities) and a safe working guide for those coming on campus is available in this handy booklet.

It is important to note our University remains open and our campuses, while consolidated, also remain open.

Access to Computer LabsSome computer labs and study spaces are still open, however people must be at least 1.5 metres apart. Remember to bring your Student ID cards for swipe access. Computer labs that are still available for general use are:
