YOUTH ACTIVITIES The Youth Committee and the P.T.A. are

planning a Costume Ball for all age groups during April. It is going to be a most exciting party and all the children will be given an opportunity to participate.

The following programs have been sched­uled for the month of January:

H arry Adams Group-a Theatre Party at 92nd St. YMHA; Isaac M. W ise-trip to Hayden Planetarium; Joshua Liebman - a House Party at the home of Laura Goetzl; David Kogan Group-a musical in New York; and Sunday Niters-a get-together at a member's home.

PTA Future activities of the PTA will feature

the Costume Ball in April for the Youth Groups of Temple-a joint effort with the Youth Committee of the T emple. The Party is expected to be a highlight of the Tercen­tenary program. A meeting pf all parents in­terested in working on this activity will be held at the home of Mrs. Sidney Marion, Wed. January 5, 8: 30 P .M. Please call Mrs. Marion YO 5-8552 if you will attend.

THE TERCENTENARY JOURNAL IS YOUR FAVORITE ACTIVITY

March 19, 1955 is the highli~ht of the 19H calendar for al1 Temple Emanu-EI members. The Tercentenary Dinner-Dance to be held that night at the Hotel Sheraton­Astor Roof promises to be the climax of the Temple's social program. Mr. Leon Her­shaft and Mr. Joseph Axler, chairmen of the Dinner have announced that the food, en ' tertainment and music will be the finest available - to assure a wonderful evening, to be lon~ remembered by the entire con­gregation.

The Dinner chairmen, along with Mr. Cy Prager, Program chairman, Mr. Jack Eisen, Journal chairman, Mr. Sam Gold, Treasurer, have had weekly meetings with President Murray Wolf and Rabbi Klausner, advisors, to set up a program for the Dinner and for the next two m'anths, prior to the Dinner. Every Temple organization is expected to participate in the complete program of meet' ings, lunches, dinners, and parties to assure the outstanding success of the Tercentenary Celebration.

As part of program for January, Brother' hood will be hosts to the Congregation at a Free Tercentenary Ball in the Vestry, Satur­day, January 22. Entertainment, refresh­ments and dancing will be included in the evening's activities.

The program journal for the Dinner-Dance will be a historic document and a memento of more than a half-century of Temple Emanuel's contribution to the Yonkers com­munity. It will be the initial step in our building fund for a new Religious School and Temple. On Friday, December 17th the Temple had special services conducted by Wedding Band to celebrate Hanukah. Mr. and Mrs. Lucky Chertok, co-presidents of Wedding Band, were in charge.

On Friday December 24th the Annual Youth Services were held, with special ser­monettes planned and delivered by college students under the guidance of Mr. Phil Aronson. Before the service a get-to-gether Hanukah Supper was served.

Among the speakers were Mickey Robbins, Harris Berkowit~ and M artin Roth. Others participating in the service were Robert Leit­stein, Karen Yarme, Charles and Ralph Nach, Nancy Schall, Shirley Rocklin, Noel Feigin, Francine Wolf, Lyle Bross, Jerry Ruthen, Robert Jacobson and Judy and P at Meisel.

The committee for Youth Activities, plan­ning the supper, was headed by Mrs. Archie Gould, with Mr. Leonard Kahn in charge of decorations. The committee also included Mrs. Louis Roth, Mrs. Matt Shifrin, Mrs. Norman Cohen, and Mrs. Morris H offberg.

BRO THERHOOD Tercentenary activities for Brotherhood in­

clude a Breakfast Meeting on Sunday, Febru­ary 6 for U .A.H.C. Andrew M andell, hon­orary member of the Board of Trustees of T emple, and. longtime active member of Brotherhood wiII be the honored guest. Eric Zwerling, chairman of the breakfast, is plannin g a full program, which will include some well-known speakers. Samuel Statler is co-chairman.

WEDDING BAND Last call this week for tickets for "Mrs.

Patterson," the Broadway show starring Eartha Kitt. Wedding Band's theater party is scheduled for Tuesday evening, January 2') - for last minute tickets call Mrs. Sam­uel Lund, YO 5'-0529. All proceeds from the affair are going towards the Nursery School Scholarship fund which Wedding Band is sponsoring.

Mrs. Milton Blum, of Nursery School committee, has announced that there are a few openings in school for the next session starting the first week in January. Parents interested are to contact Mrs. Blum, YO 8-0742 for particulars.

Wedding Band's first meeting of the new year will take place in the vestry, Saturday evening, Jan. 8. Ann and Ben Manheimer are in charge of the program, and promise a combination game-quiz-fun nite with every­thing from "Beat the Clock" to ''I've Got a Secret" to "Truth or Consequences" (and even a hot game of "Slap jack" in the cor­ner). Refreshments, of course, (never say that Wedding Banders don't eat well) will be served.

SISTERHOOD The January Fifth meeting of Sisterhood

will highlight National Uniongram Day by a Quiz Program conducted by Mrs. Edgar Taub, chairman . This will be an audience participation program and prizes will be given. The questions will be of Jewish in­terest - past and present .
