WHERE IT’S AT
The Temperate rainforest biome only exists on three continents.
The first of these continents is North America, the forest is located in the coastal regions of British Columbia, Seattle bay area, and southern Alaska.
The rainforest on South America is located in the coastal regions of Chile.
The last location that contains one of these forests is New Zealand
CLIMATE
The temperate rainforest has an annual rainfall of between 200 centimeters to 350 centimeters.
The average temperature is around 32 degrees Fahrenheit but in the warmer climates the average can reach 68 degrees Fahrenheit
Can be as cold as -22 degrees in the winter and as hot as 89 degrees in the summer
The temperature is strongly influenced by the ocean.
The soil in a temperate rainforest is very rich
Has one long wet season in the spring and one dry season in the summer
MAMMALS The temperate rainforest has thousands of species inside of it.
A species of squirrel that is known as the Northern flying squirrel is exclusive to this environment.
It can grow up to ten inches and can stretch out its skin to for a sort of parachute it can glide with.
A species of bat is also native to this environment it is called the Long-Eared Myotis
