B: It’s Seven o’clock

A: Excuse me, Can you tell me the

B: Of course, It’s five thirty

I. Say the hour first and thenthe minutes. (Diciendo primero la hora y luego los

minutos)

Examples:

- It’s eleven forty

HOUR + MINUTES

It’s three thirty-four

It’s two nineteen

It’s eleven forty-six

II. Say minutes first and then

the hour. (Diciendo primero los minutos y luego la hora)

MINUTES + PAST/TO +

HOUR

It’s twenty-five past one

It’s nine to eleven

It’s half past ten

It’s four to nine

It’s quarter past twelve

It’s ten to seven

We use o’clock when there are

no minutes

(Usamos o’clock cuando no hay

minutos)

Examples:

10: 00 It’s ten o’clock

5: 00 It’s five o’clock

AM : ANTE MERIDIEM

PM : POST MERIDIEM

We use a.m for the morning.

p.m for the afternoon,evenigand night.

Examples:

3 a.m It’s three o’clock in the morning.

3 p.m It’s three o’clock in the afternoon.

7 p.m It’s seven o’clock in the evening

11 p.m It’s eleven o’clock at night.

Morning : 00:01 – 11:59

Midday ( Noon) : 12:00

Afternoon : 12:01 – 18:00

Evening : 18:01 – 22:00

Night : 22:01 – 00:00

a.m : 00:01 – 12:00

p.M : 12:01 – 24:00

Digital clock is using the 24-hour clock is used for the Police and Militaries, and ComputerProgrammers.

Generaly we use the 12-hour clock.
