LM9x0 Firmware Image Concept
• Up to four independent firmware images can be flashed on the LM9x0• Multiple images co-exist to accommodate regional or network-specific
customizations• The active image is selected at boot, ie depending on SIM card operator• A “Generic” image must be present on the device for technical reasons: it
usually covers all bands but not all CA combos• Other images contain firmware versions certified for a specific network
operator eg AT&T, Verizon Wireless (VzW) etc.• It might not be possible to combine more than one carrier customization
on the same image• New images for future certifications might be added as needed• Host SW component (bootloader) part of SW constellation

• Q: Why are different partitions supported on the LM9x0?• A: In order to accommodate different (and sometimes conflicting)
• Q: Is PCI bus supported?• A: No, the form factor is mPCIe but the bus is not supported.• USB 3.0 provides 5Gbit/s speed, which is plenty of BW considering max achievable TP
• Q: Is 2G supported?• A: No, GSM/GPRS technology is fading out and not required for this type of products
• Q: On LM960, is 4x4 MIMO supported on all frequency bands?• A: No, due to HW limitations the LM960 supports 4x4 MIMO on E-UTRA bands 2, 66• With 2x2 MIMO, maximum throughput is 1 Gbit/s
• Q: Is CBRS band supported? • A: Yes, but only for the LM960A18. Due to HW limitations, not available on LM940
