!e Ashram is a place to:• Rest, relax and rejuvenate in a peaceful and beautiful natural

Practical information on retreatsYou may arrive on any day and stay as long as you wish. The roomsare simple yet comfortable; you are also welcome to pitch your tenton the Ashram grounds from June to September. The food is lacto-vegetarian and two balanced meals are served daily. It is almostfully organic. During the summer season, the Ashram gets verygood quality organic vegetables from a local producer. We have also started a permaculture vegetable garden to slowlygrow our own food. We need help with it, let us know if you areinterested by email at [email protected].

Your stay at the Ashram requires a sincere interest in the yogic life style. Participation in the morning and evening meditation and thetwo yoga classes is expected. We welcome beginners as well asmore advanced yoga practitioners.

The classes and lectures are in English and French withsimultaneous translation into both languages. Arrival time isaround 3pm and departure time around 2pm. Check out time forthe rooms is noon time.

Karma Yoga programmesWork-Study ProgrammeThe work-study programme is suitable for those who wouldlike to experience the yoga life style for a minimum of onemonth and are already familiar with the Ashram and theteachings of the Sivananda Centres. The disciplinedprogramme includes five hours of karma yoga per day and isdirected at students who are familiar with the teachings ofthe Sivananda Centres. Prior interview with SwamiKailasananda (the Ashram director) is necessary. You canpost your application by sending your name, address,telephone number, email, birth date, the reason why youwant to participate, your previous experience with yoga, yourqualifications and the skills that could benefit the Ashram.

Full Karma Yoga ProgrammeThis programme is suitable for those interested in fullycommitting to a spiritual life. Familiarity with the Ashram and the teachings of the Sivananda Centres is a prerequisite.

The minimum length of this programme is three months.Prior interview with Swami Kailasananda (the Ashramdirector) is necessary.

FROM THE PARIS AIRPORTS TO AUSTERLITZ TRAINSTATION From Charles de Gaulle Airport, take the RER B to St Michel-Notre-Dame, then the connecting RER C to Austerlitz Station(5 minutes) or take a taxi from the airport to the train station(about 50€). From there take a train to Les Aubrais. From Orly Airport, take the metro Orlyval and get off atAntony (10 minutes), then the connecting RER B to SaintMichel-Notre-Dame (20 minutes). From there take the RER Cuntil Gare d’Austerlitz (5 minutes). From there take a train toLes Aubrais.

BY TRAIN TO LES AUBRAIS (the closest station to the Ashram) The train for Les Aubrais leaves Paris from Austerlitz Stationand takes one hour. August 4 – 19, 2012 | August 3 – 18, 2013The Sadhana Intensive is a two week programme designed by Swami Vishnudevananda based on thetraditional Yoga practice which he himself followed during a six month period of intense Sadhana in theHimalayas. Swami Vishnudevananda often said that this intensive practice gave him the energy to carry out hismission of spreading the teachings of yoga in the West for nearly 40 years.This course is based on individual practice with the emphasis on an intense and prolonged practice of pranayama. In themorning, the students meet with their teachers and receive instructions for the practice of the day. Students are guidedindividually in their practice. All meet again at midday for an inspiring study of some of the main classical scriptures of yoga.Reading from these scriptures will enrich the Hatha Yoga practice.

Teachers The course will be given bySwami Kailasananda, Yoga Acharya andother senior teachers of the Sivanandaorganisation. Successful completion of the Sivananda

Yoga Teachers’ Training Course is a pre-requisite for allparticipants. This course is intensive and a sound physical andmental health is a pre-requisite.

Opening ofthe heart is one of the keys to access the deepest levels ofHatha Yoga.The Hatha Yoga Pradipika by Yogi Swatmarama: thisclassical text on Hatha Yoga explains in depth: asanas,pranayama, mudras and bandhas as well as the process ofawakening the kundalini.
