Dear All,
IMPORTANT REMINDER!! PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS MONDAY (18TH JUNE) IS AN INSET DAY AND THEREFORE
SCHOOL IS CLOSED TO PUPILS. Enjoy the long weekend!
Fortnight: Battle Royale. Familiar to you or your child? Read more at: https://www.dorset.police.uk/media/55800/parents-summer-2018.pdf
How can you help your child avoid online bullying? Read more at: https://www.dorset.police.uk/media/55800/parents-summer-2018.pdf Small request – please send your child in with an old shirt or larger top for Arts week… it’s going to be messy at times and we know school uniform is not cheap or disposable! Mon 25th-Fri 29th June. Paul Beveridge, Headteacher
Safety before and after school
May we remind all parents/carers and children that our school site is supervised from 8:35-3:20 (unless your
child is signed into an afterschool club). Children accessing the school grounds before and after these times
do so at their own risk and under direction of their parents. We are considering reducing access to the
playgrounds and fields outside of school hours to ensure children are safe on site at all times. Please remind
your child that they should be walking round to the classroom door and not playing football etc on the
field. This is to help ensure no accidents or injuries occur. No adults or children should be scooting on the
pedestrian paths around school – we have had injuries and several near misses. Mr Beveridge and the staff
will be actively discouraging children from gathering on the playground and field during unsupervised times
to reduce safety concerns. If this is ineffective we will be forced to tighten the gate locking parameters to
reduce access outside of school hours. Thank you for your understanding – your child’s safety is our priority.
Change for life
Change4Life week is w/b 18th June…
this year we have got Skip2bfit coming
in (on Tuesday 19th June) - each year
group will be involved in a half an hour
workshop and then there will be an
assembly at the end of the day for all of
the children where they will give out
prizes. Miss Murray and Mrs Hedges
have put together a list of activities that
teachers can choose from to do some
healthy activities in class during the 4
day week too.
Let’s get skippy!

PTA Fathers’ Day Sale ‘mop up’ – 15th June 2018
Tomorrow, 15th June, the PTA will be running another chance for children to take part in the
Fathers’ Day Sale although we have been advised stock is now very limited. A further opportunity
will be given the opportunity to visit the ‘shop’ where the children will be able to buy a gift for their
dad (or other special man in their life!). The gifts will cost £2. Please send money into school on
Friday morning in a named envelope with the amount of money included written on the outside.
This is a lovely way for the children to independently choose something for their dad for Fathers’
Day (Sunday 17th June). This is also an opportunity for children to buy 2nd or 3rd gifts for other
special blokes subject to availability!

*VERY IMPORTANT! NUT FREE SCHOOL REMINDER!
Please can we remind you that we are a nut free school and we have children and staff
members in school who have severe allergies to nuts. It has come to our attention that
some children are having Nutella as a sandwich filling or Nutella products, we need to
remind you that these hazelnut based products cannot be brought into school and a nut
free filling or chocolate bar must be used. We appreciate your co-operation with this as
the well-being of all of our pupils and staff is our top priority at all times.
*Medical appointments - Please can we ask that if your child has a medical appointment
within the school day that the office are shown a copy of the letter or forwarded an email
to keep on file. The school needs to be complying with the attendance guidelines set out
by Dorset County Council.
