1. IntroductionA strong identity is one of the most valuable assets anorganisation owns. To make it truly powerful it needs to be applied consistently so anyone dealing with Teknova knows who we are and what we stand for. Everyone has a part to play in doing this and bringing our vision to life.

This document is a guideline for our visual communication.The guide should be followed when commissioning,designing or delivering any kind of communications.

2. Logo specifications

The Teknova logo is the cornerstoneof our identity and needs tobe used consistently and correctly.

The primary logo is provided in two versions, positive and negative.

A tag-logo is provided for use on photo backgrounds, on products or when the logo has to be very small.

The following pages explain moreabout using our logo.

The logo must always be reproduced from the master artwork provided on teknova.no/intranet/media/logo

Modifications of the logos are not allowed.

3. Logo placement and exclusion zone

The primary logo should when possible be placed in the top left corner, and always on a white background.

The negative logo can be used when the dark blue of the logo is used as background colour in the design.

The tag-logo is intended for use on photo backgrounds, on products or when the logo has to be very small. Avoid choosing a very busy photo for the background, and the area that will show around the logo must provide enough contrast to the darkblue Teknova colour.

We have defined an exclusion zone that prevents other graphic elements from interfering with the Teknova logo:

The primary colours are the colours of our logo. These colours together with white should dominate any composition.

The yellow and orange in the secondary palette are to be used on smaller elements in a composition, and in graphs and figures.

Colour modes:RGB is used for web and screen. To accomodate all preferences, both channel values and HEX values are provided for the RGB colours.

CMYK is used for 4-colour printing.

Pantone colours are used for two-colour custom printing and silkscreen printing.

Flama is Teknova’s primary font

Flama Light is used for main titles, and can also be used for picture captions.

Flama Semibold is used for subtitles and important notes. Use to break upthe body text and where you want todraw attention. The size should be just1-3 points larger than the body text.

Flama Book is used for body text.

The secondary font Calibri can be used when Flama isn’t available. Calibri is used in all our Office templates.

Calibri substitutes are Calibri Light, Calibri Regular and Calibri Bold.Calibri is provided with Microsoft Office.

5. Typography

8. Powerpoint template

The Powerpoint template includes several page layouts and three alternative options for the first page, and a colour theme. When appropriatly saved the colour theme will also be available in Word.

9. Advertisements

Ads for vacant positions are also an opportunity to promote Teknova.

The ads shown here are provided as InDesign CC files in the newspaper format Modul 33B (122 mm x 181 mm).The ads can be downloaded from the intranet: teknova.no/intranet/media

We recommend sending the InDesign file together with a Word document containing the text to the paper or magazine where you want the ad to run.

The logo and the decor where present is embedded in the InDesign file, and it is not necessary to send these separate.

The ads can easily be resized if necessary, but its recommende to limit the amount of text in the ad and refer to the full announcement on teknova.no.

10. Decor elements

The two decor elements are based on the graphic symbol in the logo.

The elements are used as watermarks as shown on the envelopes, the ad and the banner-up.

The outline element is rendered in 15 % of the light bluegreen logo colour, and the solid element in 20 % of the colour.

Both are also provided in full colour for use with transparancy over a photograph or background colour.

The decor elements are provided as pdf files (vector), and can be downloaded from teknova.no/intranet/media/decor
