First established in 1995 as a small plant hire business, Teichmann has strategically expanded its business sectors and geographical reach by realising opportunities, developing capacity and skills as well as gaining experience.

Celebrating 20 years of service, the Teichmann Group has its main holding company and head office in Mauritius and has earned a reputation as a preferred service supplier, delivering full line solutions and support to the African continent in the sectors of Mining, Exploration Drilling, Civil Construction, Bulk Earthworks and Roadworks, Plant Hire and Agriculture.

A dynamic and motivated Group, Teichmann is led by its shareholders and a young and innovative management team. Local employees are used where possible to develop the skills of the local workforce and, when the necessary skills are not available, qualified expatriate employees transfer these skills to assist in the training and development of the local workforce.

The Teichmann Mining Division provides Africa-wide turnkey mining operations support, ranging from greenfields projects beginning with exploration drilling, to post-mining site rehabilitation and mine-site closure work. BULK EARTHWORKS AND ROADWORKS


Understanding the challenges posed by Africa’s harsh working environment, Teichmann has partnered with leading equipment suppliers such as Caterpillar, Bell Equipment and Mercedes Benz - companies with a solid support footprint on the continent in terms of backup and parts availability.

Our comprehensive fleet is hired internally to various entities within the Group as well as to external end users when capacity exists.

Teichmann employs a team of qualified and highly experienced mechanical staff in all of the countries in which the Group operates. We strive to achieve 90% mechanical availability of the fleet by strictly following maintenance standards and the company’s policy of consistent replacement of older machines.

We invest substantially in operator training tosupport our philosophy that well trained operatorsreduce costly downtime and maintenance costs.

While our current activities are focused on sugar, maize and soya farming activities, Teichmann Agric sees huge potential and a desperate need to develop sustainable agriculture in Africa to meet the continent’s growing food requirements. We are committed to developing the agricultural services business in Africa by expanding into other crops and countries, where we will look to establish our contracting operation as well as develop farming units where the potential and opportunity exists.
