JAMAICA TEAM There will be a meeting for the Jamaica team this Sunday, June 30 th , after church in rooms 102-103. We will talk about housing COURAGE TO CHANGE Courage to Change had a guest speaker Thursday June 20. Rick Headley, one of the chaplains for Marietta Memorial Hospital, spoke about caring for family members who need assistance. He talked to the Cour- age to Change group about taking one day at a time, car- ing for the needs of our lived one, but also taking the time to care for our own needs. Caregivers are 60% more likely to die sooner than non-caregivers. Many times the caregiver who does not take time to care for his or herself will precede in death the person he or she has been caring for over time. Caregivers need to develop a support system or find a support group where they can feel accepted and understood. Rick gave the group the Do’s and Don’ts of caregiving. We appreciate his time and expertise in dealing with loved ones who are elderly or others who are no longer able to live alone and care for themselves. LOVE IN ACTION We want to thank the Wharton's who donated another refrigerator to the pantry and Jody Laughery who delivered it. It is really needed! Also a special thanks to Carolyn Sturm who worked four days with the pantry last week and Chuck Hinzman and Mark Kaufman who have helped get the supplies at Walmart the past few weeks. There are so many who step out each week to help in some way and none of this goes unnoticed. We thank you all. We obtained over 3000 pounds of food last week just from Walmart alone! What a blessing! I hope that Jeff challenged each of us last Sunday to build a more intimate relationship with Christ, each other, and our world. As disciples of Christ, our love for him, his church and the GRACE he gives us daily, should be our motivation. So, church, let's pray with Faith and let God light our fires. There is an entire community out there needing loved on and needing our "LOVE IN ACTION!"
