Mind mapping Mind Maps are Your Secret Weapon to Success

Making a Mind Map is Fun!

Just remember these six easy steps.

1. Start in the Center of a blank piece of paper turned sideways (landscape)

2. Quickly sketch an image (no bigger than your fist) of your MAIN TOPIC in the Center

3. Use at least 3 COLORS  in the center and many different COLORS  for emphasis, structure, creativity and fun!

4. Draw some thick, curved connected lines from the picture, one for each of the main ideas you have

5. Name each of these ideas and, if you want, draw a little picture – This uses both sides of your brain. Words are underlined throughout. This is because they are key words and the underlining, as in normal notes, shows their importance.

6. From each of these ideas, you can draw other connected lines, spreading out like the branches of a tree. Add you thoughts on each of these branches (these additional Branches represent the details).

Follow up discussion to Mind Mapping

How do you feel now that you know a little about each other?

How do you think this will help you as a leader? What did you find you had in common with other

people? What else would you like to know about each other? Did you find it easier to remember each other’s

names?

What is self-esteem??

Page 31: Teen Leadership Academy -day1--ppt

Self-Esteem definitionYour self esteem is build upon the

thoughts and feelings you have about yourself.

It is a self-evaluation, an opinion of who you are, build on experiences in your life and the conclusions you made, whether or not under pressure of peers.

Page 32: Teen Leadership Academy -day1--ppt

Your Self-Image

Page 33: Teen Leadership Academy -day1--ppt

What is your Self-Image???

How you see yourself determines the state of your happiness and success.

You are who you think you are, period. The beliefs you have about yourself are the source

of your behavior and your results in life. The beautiful thing is that you can change and

choose what you believe. And by changing those long lasting thoughts, you

were once so certain about, you change everything.

Page 34: Teen Leadership Academy -day1--ppt

Page 35: Teen Leadership Academy -day1--ppt

Worksheet #2 Strengths

Your thoughts determine your feelings and the functioning of your brain.
