The TECO® Brand Overview

To protect and further establish the TECO mark, a comprehensive graphic identity program has

been designed for usage on facility signage, vehicles, computer monitors and all printed materials.

On the following pages are specific logotype treatments for TECO, TECO Energy, Tampa Electric,

Peoples Gas, TECO Partners and TECO Services.

Guidelines for use of colors must be strictly adhered to and reproduction of any of the

logotypes must be done from master artwork provided by TECO’s Corporate Communications

Department. The logos may be enlarged or reduced, as appropriate to their application;

however, the proportions may not be altered in any way nor may elements be moved or

assigned different colors.

Failure to abide by the guidelines may result in consumer confusion or erosion of the brand name.

Any variation from the guidelines is prohibited without the approval of the Legal and Corporate

Communications Departments.

The company reserves the right to take appropriate action when the TECO name or logo is used

without permission or when the name or logo has been adapted, modified or otherwise used

inappropriately. Such action may include disciplinary action or termination and/or civil or criminal

prosecution.

The registered trademark symbol (®) must always appear with the logo. It should be enlarged

or reduced proportionally with the logo as shown in this guide. When the logo is enlarged to 16

inches wide or more or reduced to 4 inches wide or less, the ® should be resized to be no larger

than 18 point and no smaller than 6 point, respectively.

Use of the Corporate Logo

The TECO logo and the approved variations for TECO Energy, Tampa Electric, Peoples

Gas, TECO Partners and TECO Services are to be used only to identify the company’s

organization, products and activities.

The TECO (umbrella) logo is to be used when representing Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas

together.

Improper use of the logos is as follows:

•Thelogocannotbeusedinamannerthatwouldimplysponsorshiporendorsementofan

outside company’s product or services.

•Thelogocannotbemodifiedordistorted,andmustbedisplayedinaccordance

with the company’s logo guidelines.

Exceptions: In some cases, employees may use the corporate logo to identify TECO or one

of its subsidiaries in presentations, news releases, technical and trade articles and other

published materials. Permission to do so must be obtained through TECO’s Corporate

Communications Department.

A Note About Corporate Identity

As TECO Energy and its subsidiaries conduct business, they are separate entities, and special

care should be taken to use the appropriate logo for the specific business you are conducting.

Umbrella Logo

The TECO (umbrella) logo is to be used when

representing Tampa Electric and Peoples

Gas together. It should not be used to represent

TECO Energy.

Subsidiary Logos

Each of the subsidiaries has its own

identity which falls underneath the broader

TECO brand. The logos to the right should be

used for any communications developed for

the listed subsidiaries.

Clear Space

Clear space surrounding the logo is an integral

part of its design. It is just as important as the

font, the shape, and color of the logo. Keep the

area around the logo clean and uncluttered. The

clear space should be equal on all sides, where

the unit of measure, “X” equals the height

of the logotype “TECO.” Do not place any

other trademark, logo, logotype, graphic, text,

photograph or illustration in the minimum clear

space area.

Icon/Text Spacing

The proper space between the icon and the text

is determined by taking the width of the letter

“E” from where Emera appears in the logo.

Minimum Sizing

The logo has been designed to reproduce

well at small sizes, but will begin to degrade if

reproduced too small. The logo should never

appear smaller than 72 pixels wide when used

online, or smaller than one inch wide when

used in print.

What Not to Do

These examples illustrate what not to do with

the logo and logos of the subsidiary brands.

The logo should not be altered. Changing the

color, proportions, fonts, or adding elements

to the logo is not allowed, and will damage the

integrity of the identity.

X Do not stretch or distort the logo.

ColorsTECO’s corporate colors are blue and yellow.

The examples listed here provide a breakdown

of those colors. The process and spot colors

are to be used for printing and the RGB and

hex (hexadecimal) options are for online or

digital use.

Typography

To ensure consistency in TECO’s documents,

which will reinforce its corporate identity,

consistent font treatment is recommended.

The primary fonts that make up TECO

materials are from the Interstate family

and Univers Condensed. If Interstate is not

avaliable, Calibri is an acceptable alternative.

TECO Logo

Logo Variations

The TECO logo can be used when products and

services from Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas

are being promoted together. It should not be

used to represent TECO Energy.

Please use the full-color logo whenever possible.

Use the one-color “black-version” logo when

limited to one-color printing.

2-color logo

When printing, the logo should appear in

Pantone (PMS) 286 blue and Pantone (PMS) 109

yellow or the equivalent 4-color process build as

follows: C92, M68, Y0, K0 and C0, M10, Y100, K0.

The logo can be used in solid black on white or

any light-colored background.

The IconThe icon from the main identity can be used by

itself. Please consider the following when using

the icon.

Proper Usage

The icon can only be used if the main identity,

in its entirety, is also present. There should

always be a generious amount of clear space

around the icon. The size of the top icon

element is a good guide for how much space

to allow around the logo. Images, text or other

graphic elements should never intrude into this

space. The icon should never be cropped so

only part of the element is showing.

New employee business cards should appear

as shown, utilizing the 2-color logo only.

Include appropriate corresponding company

address information.

All new business cards should use one of the

templates to the right.

Depending on individual needs, the

templates provide options that allow one to

decide what information is needed. The front of

the card displays phone, fax, email contact

and address.

TECO Fleet Vehicle Graphics

Vehicle Door Decal

Company fl eet vehicles require a full-color logo decal. The

decal size is approximately 18” wide x 7.5” deep. When

positioning on vehicle doors, the decal must be centered

between the door handle and the edge of the door.

Also, center top and bottom. When the mirror bracket

interferes with placement, move decal under brackets and

center on door.
