Technological advances: things that have made our lives easier and better.

We may be used to having a washing machine in our kitchen, but when we go to a rural houseor a place that has not got a washing machine, we are surprised.

This machine was invented approximately 100 years ago, 1908.

Think about the date: 1908How did people wash their clothes before then?(they had to fill tubs with hot water and wash by hand)

Are all changes in new technologies positive or good?No, some can harm or do damage to the environment.

B-Ultrasound image of baby: monitor the baby’s development inside the uterus

Home: TVs, phones,. digital alarm clocks, cookers, toasters, telltes, fridges, freezers…

School: Science equipment, computers, printers, CD players, video recorders, language labs, digital resources, the internet…

Why are X-ray technology and ultrasound technology so important to medicine?

X-ray: It enables doctors to see inside our bodies and detect broken bones.

Ultrasound: Doctors can see the development of the baby before it is born.

It can also detect and treat certain illnesses.

How do you use technology for entertainment?

Leisure time: TVs, radios, CD players, DVDs, computers, tablets, cell phones, console

games (Play Stration, Nintendo…)
