Science fiction is an idea that occurs in the head and doesnt exist yet, but soon will, and will change everything for everybody, and nothing will ever be the same again. As soon as you have an idea that changes some small part of the world you are writing science fiction Ray Bradbury

Synopsis

Arguing PointThe story of The Veldt is delving into the issue of how modern technology can destroy the nuclear familyTechnology is good, butThe balance of letting kids have access to these kinds of things and what constitutes a moderate amount of time and privacy is debatable What is not debatable is that parents sometimes allow kids unrestricted access to these thingsTechnology is in our world, and members of Generations Y and Z don't know life without it.

Quality timeA group of children, aged 4-6, were asked whether they'd want to watch TV or hang out with their dad. According to an A.C. Nielsen report, 54 percent of kids preferred to spend time with the TV.It's a sad commentary when Bakugan or Barney, wins out over quality time with a parent

A less empathetic generationA benefit of a family is that children learn the give and take of societyhow to interact with other people the importance of the individual and the grouphow to communicateHOWEVER, with the inundation of technology in all facets of life, parents run the risk of raising a generation who can't relate to other peopleRecommendationsSchedule outdoor timeMinimize double standardsEncourage to make plans with friendsTake family dinner hour seriouslyLimit screen time
