Technology Leadership Team Conducts Technology Transformation Team (T3+) Meeting
Frankie Jackson led the Technology Transformation Team (T3+)
leadership meeting on Monday, January 23, 2017. The notes from the
meeting are here. For the leadership topic, the team discussed Ten
Things That Immediately Happen When Real Leadership Shows Up.
Also during the meeting, each team leader reviewed their progress
and transformations from the previous week as well as plans,
schedules, and issues for this week. The team also discussed their
“one word” for the year, which are shown on the here.

Technology Leadership Team Participates in the Certified
Education Technology Leadership (CETL) Study Program
On Monday, January 23, 2017, Kim Bowlin, Leonard Chance, and Doug Baker started a group study for the
Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) program. Frankie Jackson is facilitating a National Certified
Education Technology Leadership (CETL) study group with the Consortium of School Networking (CoSN).
Frankie asked members of our leadership team to participate in the study in an effort to promote the certification
and expand the leadership capabilities of the team. Expanding the participation to the leadership team is in
alignment with our cross training and succession planning efforts. This week the study group focused on
Leadership and Vision.

Meeting with Aruba’s Chief Executive Officer
Dominic Orr
Frankie Jackson met with Stuart Snow and Dominic Orr, Aruba’s Chief Executive Officer, on January 23, 2017
as Dominic made customer visits before retiring. Also joining the meeting was Jack Martin and other Aruba
HPE representatives. Frankie and Stuart presented Dom with a card, including our 2014 Bond strategic
partnership poster. Katie Hernandez also prepared a 100 slide PowerPoint presentation with pictures and
progress showing the impact that Aruba’s enterprise wireless technology has had on Cypress Fairbanks ISD.

Frankie Jackson stopped in to participate in part of the data center virtualization project status and progress
meeting on January 24, 2017. The Network Infrastructure Communications (NIC) team, including representatives
from Layer3, Cisco, VMWare, Presidio, and EMC participated in reviewing updates, timelines, and plans. This
project is part of RFP #14-10-4578 that was approved by the Board of Trustees in February 2016.

Instructional Technology Purchasing
Process Review
Frankie Jackson led a review of the Instructional Technology purchasing process with Mary Jadloski and Becky
Cook on Tuesday, November 24, 2017. Jay Johnson, Kim Bowlin and Leonard Chance provided specific data
and details to help support the meeting. Their input was invaluable.

The objective of the meeting was to: Assess the current Instructional Technology
ordering process and responsibilities, and identify areas for improvement. The full

Meeting with David Corona (ProComputing) to Review
Promethean Board Support
Frankie Jackson met with David Corona on January
26, 2017 to review the support we are receiving for
our Promethean board technology installations and
service. David is the project manager for
ProComputing, the service provider for installing
and supporting our Promethean boards. During the
meeting they talked about the importance of staying
on schedule and communicating all deliveries to Jay
Johnson’s Acquisition, Assets, and Sustainability
team.

Meeting with Dave Kapavik (Layer3) to Conduct a
Full Project Review of Open Items and Upcoming Plans

Kirk Elementary School Tanner Trailer Park
Frankie Jackson met with Dave Kapavik (Layer3) on January 26, 2017 to
review the projects that are underway. Layer3 is the strategic partner
providing all enterprise wireless support and datacenter virtualization design.
Additionally Layer3 is proposing a remote access point wireless technology to
provide home access for students without connectivity. Preliminary design
work is underway. Shown in the following picture is a proposal to connect the
Tanner trailer park to Kirk elementary. A full cost proposal is being developed
for our review. All projects are progressing on schedule.

Cypress Fairbanks ISD Participating at the Local Level in
Technology Leadership with 8 Surrounding Districts
January 27, 2016
Frankie Jackson met with the Region IV area district technology leaders on Thursday, January 27, 2016.
Districts include Fort Bend, Klein, Houston, Cypress Fairbanks, Pasadena, Katy, Spring Branch, and Clear
Creek. This month’s meeting was held at Klein ISD. The group meets monthly, rotating the meetings at a
different district each month. The meeting this month was in Clear Creek ISD.
