Tactical Ground Collision Avoidance System for A400MT-GCAS ®
T-GCAS® has been developed to provide CFIT protecti on for all military flight phases:– Tactical Take-off and Tactical Landing (e.g. unpaved runways) without the use of a runway data base or terrain clearance floor– Low level flight down to 150 ft in VMC and down to 500 ft in IMC– CFIT protection during low level delivery down to 15 ftabove ground level
Predictive Mode - Forward-Looking Terrain-Awareness• Evaluation of digital terrain model, aircraft foreseen trajectory
and maneuver capability for current aircraft configuration. • Alert indication in PFD, HUD and audio signal➥ 2 alert levels for improved crew situation awareness• Exact location of the predicted terrain or obstacle incursion indicated on the Navigation Display
Reactive ModeClosure Rate Monitoring down to 5 ft above ground level. Radioatimeter based

C295 Cockpit Automated Procedures
The objective of the R&T Program is to enhance modern cockpit operation taking into account Human Factors
aspects to improve Situational Awareness and reduce Pilot Workload Load keeping flight safety level and mission
effectiveness.
The new function aims to simplify the way how flight crew interacts in the cockpit during normal operation or after
system failure occurrence to reach the objective of automated flight.
Increasing procedure automation during the checklist running while maintaining pilot
in-the-loop using visual feedback
Increasing pilot mental spare capacity, especially during emergency situations.
Providing Automatic Aircraft reconfiguration per flight phase (flaps setting, landing
gear, speed brakes, lights, general systems…)
Technology and Innovation
1016 June 2016
The project request the development of an Aircraft
Configuration Management system capable to monitor the
aircraft systems and automatically provide commands to
change the configuration.
A global operational evaluation will be performed including
complex scenarios with the integration of a prototype
(HW&SW) in the Active Cockpit on ground demonstrator

JRE (Joint Range Extension) Link16 for TankersAplication of Link 16 JRE Functionality in the tanker• Acting as Link 16 data relay to make local Link
16 information accessible to the C3I network.• Aditionally ccessing information from Link 16
networks/scenarios that are Beyond-Line-Of-Sight ie in the destination area.
• There are two main options to implement JREAP capability in A330 MRTT:
Tx/Rx of L16 messages through an IP Satcom(JREAP-C), e.g. Inmarsat 4 / SkynetTx/Rx of L16 messages through UHF DAMA radio (JREAP-A
Activity performed:Integration in Lab of a COTS JREAP-C SW application within the Tankers TIMS architecture and performing L 16 data exchanges through a simulated satellite network with a RPAS control station also fitted with JREAP capability.
Next Step Integration in one MRTT fitted with wideband SATCOM

Airborne Laser Terminal – Flight DemonstrationAirbus DS – Military Aircraft is involved in an Affordable Optical Communications (AOC) Airborne Terminal Demonstration programme which:
• Will demonstrate laser communication from aircraft to spacecraft in GEO (39,000km)
• Will use Europe Data Relay Satellite (EDRS-A) as a space backbone
• Will embark a prototype laser terminal onboard an Airbus A310 Flying Test Bed
• Will transmit data (e.g. video) making use of a Gb-capable channel (1-2 orders of magnitude
faster than standard air-to-sat links)
Flight Test Demonstration is scheduled to take place by end of July 2016, over a Spanish restricted airspace area, performing up to 8 independent air-to-sat laser lin ks between the Airbus DS Optronics terminal onboard de A310, and the EDRS-A satellite in its geospatial orbit.

GREPS – Generic RPAS Ground Control Station
GREPS is the Airbus DS answer for developing the reference Ground Control Station (GCS), based on the experience gathered in developing Ground Control Stations for several other UAS like nEUROn and Atlante .
• Interoperable GCS capable of controlling different air platforms, based on STANAG 4586• Modular concept, supporting different types of instantiations• Scalable for simultaneous multi-vehicle C2 support• Stepped, cost-effective certification approach for different scenarios
GREPS supports different configurations :• GREPS Full: large platforms, integration into non-segregated airspace (duplex architecture)• GREPS Light: light and medium platforms, operation into segregated airspace (simplex architecture)

Eurofighter Storm Shadow Design and Clearance
• Eurofighter Instrumented Production Aircraft (IPA) successfully completed a release of the MBDA Storm Shadow in November 2015 at Aberporth MoD firing range, in the UK.
• Clearance provided by the Eurofighter Flight Control System Joint Team at the Airbus Defence and Space facilities in Manching, Germany.
•• The WIF method (Weapons Integration Flexibility)
method, seeks to give a flight clearance for a new store without an update to the Control Laws, significantly reducing development cost and time.
