PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:The SentryRail handrail system is a free standing aluminium handrail system. It is designed to be installed as permanent edge protection on flat roofs and surfaces which have a pitch of less than 10 degrees. The aluminium upright posts are stylish with a raking profile. The aluminium extrusion is rounded with no sharp edges. The SentryRail has a unique patented profile to facilitate ease of installation by incorporating an unlimited extruded U thread. When used with U thread bolts, it allows for an infinitely adjustable connection point on the upright and horizontal handrail tubes. Extra intermediate rails, infill panels and toeboards can easily be added during or after installation of handrail.

Stability is provided by a cantilever concrete counter balance weight. The weights are approximately 24kg each and can be spaced up to 2.5m centres. It is normal for the weights to be positioned on each upright leg. Double weights can easily be added on any of the upright legs again using the patented profile and U thread bolts. It may be necessary to fit double weights on the end of a handrail run or on very short handrail sections. Concrete blocks can

be colour coded if required to match the roof finish. The concrete blocks are stylish and low profile. The underside of the weight is smooth to prevent damage to roof covering materials and is installed directly onto the finished roof. A rubber protective matting can be installed under the weight and front foot, but compatibility with the roof covering must be checked prior to installation.

To fully comply with standards, it is necessary to have an up-stand on the edge of a roof of at least 100mm to prevent tools and equipment falling over the edge. If no roof up-stand is present the handrail must be fitted with toeboards to provide this protection. The handrail will be a minimum 1100mm high and the handrail centres will not exceed 450mm. Involving

our design team early in the construction phase will ensure that the most cost effective and safe system is installed. Our designers will consider the safety of both installers during the construction phase and future maintenance personnel.

SentryRail has purpose made corners and D Ends. These parts have been plastic injection moulded to a high degree of accuracy and provide a smooth change in direction on corners and an end of a run.

Swing gates are available and can be provided with or lock to prevent unauthorized access to certain areas.

The SentryRail handrail is lightweight yet extremely strong. The aluminium handrail sections are normally supplied to site in 5.0m or 3.0m lengths. A 5.0m section weighs less than 1kg per metre. The benefits during installation are reduced manual handling issues and reduced installation time.

SentryRail can be supplied and installed as a basic handrail edge protection compliant with current legislation or can be provided with optional extras to enhance the system to suit a budget. Handrail can be Polyester powder Coated to match most RAL colour requirements. Colour coding is not recommended in areas of high usage or in harsh environments. Infill panels or fence panels can be fitted to provide added protection or a screen to block visibility

A complete installed SentryRail system can weigh as little as 19kg per square metre, with a point load of 24Kg. The system therefore has a very impressive safety to weight ratio, which is particularly important on modular or lightweight roof systems where reduced loading applies.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:All personnel who use the Aviator system should have attended a NASLOT (National Access and Safety Line Operator Training) course. Courses are available from Sayfa Systems UK Ltd.

INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE/TRAINING

INSPECTION ROUTINE:All systems to be inspected at least every 12 months from date of installation.

In harsh environments all systems to be inspected at least every 3 months.

Inspections must be carried out by approved Aviator engineers.

Inspections must be approved to SIMS (Safety Inspection and Maintenance Service) standards.

All inspections to be carried out to EN795:2012 and BS 7883:2005 and WAHSA (inspection of eyebolts) requirements for safety line and anchor points.

All inspections to be carried out to EN364 requirements for personal protective equipment.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:The Sayfaguard handrail system is designed to be installed as permanent edge protection on roofs and surfaces which have a pitch of up to 45 degrees. The upright posts and handrail are supplied in galvanised 42mm round tube construction. The tubes are connected with Sayfaclamp fittings so no on-site welding is required and site fabrication is kept to a minimum. The handrail is supplied to site with most sections cut to facilitate the speed of installation. Extra intermediate rails, infill panels and toeboards can easily be added during or after installation of handrail.

The Sayfaguard base plates are designed to be fixed to the roof or floor substrate with suitable fixings to accommodate the necessary forces as determined in the industry standards. If additional stability is required then outriggers can be installed. These may be needed when using infill panels to ensure that they will be

suitable for the additional wind loads which will be applied. Depending on the structure that it will be fixed to, the handrail uprights can be spaced at 2,25m centres. All handrail can be colour coded if required to match the roof finish. This is not recommended in aggressive atmospheres or high use areas.

When fixing direct to steel deck roofs the base plates will be fitted with a butile mastic sealing strip between the bracket and the roof deck. This sealing strip provides a guaranteed leak free seal. Sayfaguard base plates for steel roof fixing are larger with more fixing holes to accommodate Sayfa bulb type rivets, which have an integrated neoprene seal for added protection.

For standing seam roofs specialist Sayfaclamps are incorporated into the base plate. This will ensure that the roof deck does not need to be penetrated in any way. Base plates for standing seam roofs can be manufactured to accommodate up to a 500mm seam centre. Larger seams will require the use of spreader plates if the base cannot be fixed in the valley.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:The Payload fixed access ladders are designed to provide a permanent means of safe access to a roof or platform. The ladders are provided with a round safety cage to limit the risk of a person falling from the ladder. It is important to note that it may still be possible to fall from this ladder and should a higher degree of safety be required a vertical safety line with

line shuttle should be fitted. The safety cage is designed to start from 2.2m up to 3m from the ladder base and must run at least 1.1m above the ladder platform. This is to allow personal access underneath the cage. The ladder rungs at the base can be fitted with a Sayfa rung cover to prevent unauthorised access.

The maximum climbing height for a single ladder is 10m. Should the ladder extend over 10m then the individual ladder heights must be 6m or less. The flights must be staggered and have a rest platform of at least 700mm square. Handrail must be provided around the platform at 1100mm for the top rail and a gap of no more than 450mm for the intermediate

handrail. A 100mm toe-board must be fitted on the platform. If it is not possible to fit an intermediate platform – such as on chimneys- a single ladder of greater than 10m can be fitted but must be installed with a vertical safety line instead of a safety cage.

The rungs on each ladder are uniformly spaced at centres between 225mm and 255mm. The last rung is replaced with the ladder platform on the ladder head. Rungs and platforms are capable of supporting

a mass of 150kg spread over 100mm. The distance between the stiles is normally between 400mm to 600mm. It is possible to go to 300mm between stiles if space is limited.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:The Payload fixed access ladders are designed to provide a permanent means of safe access to a roof or platform. The ladders are provided with a vertical safety line to limit the risk of a person falling from the ladder. The operator attaches to the safety line with a vertical line shuttle which is attached the front connection on a full body harness. The vertical

line shuttle allows the operator to climb up and down the full extent of a straight run without disconnecting. Should the operator slip or trip the line shuttle will lock up and prevent a fall. The ladder rungs at the base can be fitted with a Sayfa rung cover to prevent unauthorised access during and after use.

The maximum climbing height for a single ladder is 10m. Should the ladder extend over 10m then the individual ladder heights must be 6m or less. The flights must be staggered and have a rest platform of at least 700mm square. Handrail must be provided around the platform at 1100mm for the top rail

and a gap of no more than 450mm for the intermediate handrail. A 100mm toe-board must be fitted on the platform. If it is not possible to fit an intermediate platform in restricted areas – such as on chimneys- a single ladder of greater than 10m can be fitted.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:Companion way ladders consist of a single flight of narrow stairs between two levels. They are generally easier and safer to use than a vertical ladder. These types of ladders are usually provided when space is at a premium and the provision of a standard stair is not an option. The companion way ladder systems are 800mm wide and supplied in heights up to 3m

The walkway is supplied with fixing clips and joiners to suit most types of roof profile. There are specialist clips for standing seam roofs and secret fix roofs which have been tested and approved for use. For steel composite panels the clip can be riveted to the deck with the Sayfa bulb type rivets. The walkway is


not recommended for use on a PVC membrane roof and the Sayfa PVC walkway should be installed in these situations. For bitumen or hot melt rubber the walkway can be laid on top and the fixing clip fixed down with a suitable mastic or similar.

GRP walkway is suitable for use on its own on a roof pitch of up to 10 degrees. Between 10 degrees and 20 degrees the walkway should be used with a handrail fixed to at least 1 side. The handrail is normally positioned on the lower edge of the walkway. Between 20 degrees to 45 degrees the walkway must be fitted with levelling plates, steps and handrail on

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:Galvanised walkway systems are designed to facilitate safe access and provide a designated access walkway on a roof or building. The walkway is 1000mm wide, supplied in up to 6.0m sections and is 20mm thick. The mesh size is normally a rectangular mesh design but can vary. The walkway is supplied in steel which has been hot dipped

It is a permanent means of access and usually left in position throughout the duration of the access requirements. Galvanised walkway systems are heavy duty and strong. The walkway provides a robust and high usage system with low maintenance.

The walkway is supplied with fixing clips and joiners to suit most types of roof profile. There are specialist clips for standing seam roofs and secret fix roofs which have been tested and approved for use. Careful attention must be taken to provide a non-conductive break between two dissimilar materials. For steel composite panels the clip can be riveted


to the deck with the Sayfa bulb type rivets. The walkway is not recommended for use on a PVC membrane roof and the Sayfa PVC walkway should be installed in these situations. For bitumen or hot melt rubber the walkway can be laid on top and the fixing clip fixed down with a suitable mastic or similar.

Galvanised walkway is suitable for use on its own on a roof pitch of up to 10 degrees. Between 10 degrees and 20 degrees the walkway should be used with a handrail fixed to at least 1 side. The handrail is normally positioned on the lower edge of the walkway. Between 20 degrees to 45 degrees

Galvansied walkway is extremely hard wearing and has exceptional strength and load bearing capabilities. The 20mm thick walkway can span a 750mm gap without additional supports. This makes it the first choice for raised walkway and cantilever walkway systems. If there are gaps wider than 750mm support steels should be fitted. The mesh is non slip under normal working conditions. Care should be taken in extreme weather as some surfaces may become slippery. All fixings (except for mastic joints) are

Galvanised walkway is supplied with joiners to ensure a seamless path. It is possible at time of manufacture to paint the walkway different colours but large minimum quantities and additional charges will apply. The slip resistance of the galvanised flooring is determined by a specific British standard

The walkway can be integrated and used together with the Payload step overs and raised walkway if required. Involving our design team early will ensure that full consideration is given to the operator safety both during construction and for long term maintenance. It is recommended to use the walkway together with additional safety protection such as

test BS 4592. This slip test determines the friction of the walkway for wet areas and is conducted using a steady stream of water. Galvanised is not as slip resistant as GRP walkway and should be substituted for GRP in extreme conditions.

Sayfa Systems UK Ltd (“SSUK”) warrants to the original purchaser (the “Customer”) that, subject to these provisions, its ManAnchor Safety Systems(the “Product”) will be free of material defects in workmanship and materials under normal use, for a period of up to twelve months from the date of delivery (the “Warranty Period”). Warranties can be extended up to 25 years at the discretion of Sayfa Systems UK Ltd and will be renewed each year following the completion of the legal recertification by an authorised installer.

This Warranty shall only become valid and effective once registered with SSUK using the attached form. The warranty number provided upon registration must be produced when any claim is made under the Warranty. When this Warranty is registered by the Customer, it shall supersede and replace any warranties given by SSUK in its standard terms of sale.

Before returning the Product believed to be defective SSUK must be supplied with details of the warranty number provided upon registration and a description of the defect which has arisen.

To report a defective Product covered by this Warranty please contact Sayfa Systems UK on 0845 2419102.

During the Warranty Period, if any part of the Product is found in the reasonable judgement of SSUK to contain material defects in materials or workmanship, SSUK will, at its option:

1 provide replacement parts necessary to repair the Product;

2 replace the Product with a comparable product; or

3 re-fund the amount paid for the Product, less depreciation, upon its return.

Replacement parts or products will be new or serviceably used, comparable in function and performance to the original part or Product and warranted for the unexpired part of the Warranty Period. Any additional purchases or upgrades will not extend this Warranty. Sayfa Systems will not be liable for any on costs, remedial work charges or supply of temporary access and handrail, when supplying replacement parts.

This Warranty covers normal use only. ssuK shall not be liable for a breach of this Warranty:

1 if the customer makes any further use of the product after notifying ssuK of a defect;

2 to the extent that any defect arises out of normal wear and tear;

3 to the extent that any defect arises out of actions or event beyond the control of ssuK, including without limitation, impacts, fire, flood, wind, earthquake, lightning or similar disaster, war, lockout, epidemic, destruction of production facilities, riot, insurrection, or material unavailability; unauthorised modifications, attachments or peripherals;

4 to the extent that any defect arises as a result of the customer’s failure to follow ssuK’s written or oral instructions as to the storage, installation, commissioning, use and yearly maintenance checks of the goods or (if there are none) good trade practice.

5 To the extent that the customer has engaged the services of any unauthorised company to install, maintain, retest or do any works on the ssuK systems without written authorisation from ssuK.

This Warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and SSUK and the Customer each agree that any disputes relating to this Warranty shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Neither SSUK nor the Customer intend that any term of this Warranty shall be enforceable by virtue of the Contracts (Rights of third Parties) Act by any person who is not a party to it.

This Warranty is personal to the Customer and may not be assigned or otherwise transferred to any other person.

EXCEPT FOR THE WARRANTIES EXPRESSED IN THIS AGREEMENT, SSUK DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OTHER THAN THOSE WARRANTIES IMPLIED BY AND INCAPABLE OF EXCLUSION, RESTRICTION OR MODIFICATION BY LAW. THE MAXIMUM LIABILITY OF SSUK TO YOU IS LIMITED TO THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID FOR THE PRODUCT. SSUK WILL NOT BE LIABLE UNDER THIS WARRANTY FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE, DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY (EXCEPT WHERE CAUSED AS A RESULT OF THE NEGLIGENCE OF SSUK), LOSS OF USE, INTERRUPTION OF BUSINESS, “DOWN TIME”, LOSS OF USE OF RELATED EQUIPMENT, LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA OR OTHER CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, HOWEVER CAUSED, WHETHER FOR BREACH OF WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), ABSOLUTE OR STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE. NOTHING IN THIS WARRANTY SHALL HAVE THE EFFECT OF EXCLUDING OR LIMITING ANY LIABILITY OF SSUK WHICH CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED BY LAW.
