Technical session (TS), High Level Round Table (HLRT) leads and Stakeholder groups in 6 AMCDRR
Meeting of the Executive Committee and Development Support Group for 6AMCDRR, 5-6 August 2015

Will consist of Ministers in charge of Disaster Management or Head of Delegation of Asia Pacific member countries
Serves as a forum for Ministers/Heads of Delegations delivering its Ministerial Statements
HLRTs are expected to come up with policy recommendations which will be reflected in the Declaration of the Conference.
Each AMC member country to send two-pages Country statement two weeks prior to the Conference
High Level Round Table (HLRT)
In parallel with High Level Round Table
Will have a ‘Lead’ to facilitate the discussion and highlight concerns and recommendations derived from the Technical Sessions
Participants of Technical Sessions include technical experts and disaster risk reduction practitioners who address key technical challenges relevant to the three sub-themes of the ConferenceTechnical Session
1. Enhance resilience at local levels2. Increase public investments for disaster and climate risk
management to protect development gains3. Private sector role - Public – private partnerships for
disaster risk reduction
Technical sessions (TS)
HLRT Chairs and Co-chairs: Governments (or only the host)
co-chairsPrevious AMC hosts or countries with significant involvement in the core areas of the conference (indicative)Viz. China, India, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia
Executive Committee decides based on expression of interest from governments
Criteria for HLRT chairs
The chair country will lead each HLRT during the main event as well as contributing to drafting the final outcomes and the declaration.
Co-chair countries will support the chair country in drafting the final outcomes and declaration.
Additionally, there could be UN & International Agency, Regional Organizations, Academia and Research Institutions, Civil Society, and the Private Sector identified to support the HLRT chairs in organizing the session.
Role/ expectation from HLRT Chairs
Technical Session leads: Proven regional technical leadership around the conference sub-
themes Having significant involvement, expertise and mandate in the
technical areas of the conference Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead partners in the region Interested and committed to contribute resources (both human and
financial) Previous engagement in Regional Platform/ AMCDRR processes Past TS leads from 5 AMC DRR:
ADPC, IFRC, World Bank, ADRRN along with Government of Indonesia and national working groups
Criteria for TS leads
Commits to fully engage in substantive preparation of the conference
Coordinate and prepare the background studies and research prior to the conference
Provides both technical and financial (if necessary) support to background studies and substantive technical preparation
Coordinate and prepare for the technical sessions during the conference
Work closely with national committee/ working group and ensure technical support to the host
Commits to follow up on the conference outcomes related to the technical areas
Commits to monitor the recommendations from respective technical sessions
