Contents 1-XXL• Masthead: This is in a large size font and in bold, by using these techniques they ensure it is the first

thing to be read. The mast head also doesn’t state the word “contents” which is unusual and shows that this magazine is unique.

• Logo: The page also features the magazines logo this confirms with the readers which magazine it is, also placed next to logo is the date of the issue.

• Main Image: The main image consisting of two artists in a mid shot, which is slightly off centred from the middle of the page. The image takes up more that ½ of the page making it stand out and more noticeable to the audience.

• Background: The background of the image is as a space for the text, as with the front cover the background is also light, it also provides some negative space which ensures the page doesn’t look overcrowded.

• Colour Scheme: This page also features the colour scheme of the magazine. Which is black, red and a pale colour.

• Table of Contents: This references all of the features included in this issue of the magazine, within each sell line they possibly include a brief description of the article, name/s of those featured and special information as well as a page number so they know where to find it.

• Quote from the artist/s featured: This gives the audience an insight as to what to expect when reading the article.

• Other Information: Other information such as credits to the photographer are placed at the bottom of the page as it is regarded as unimportant to the audience.

• Logo: This contents page doesn’t exhibit the logo, as isn’t always necessary.• Main Image: The main image on this page has been cropped so it doesn't take up the whole page,

however it still takes up the majority of the page. This also makes the contents page a lot cleaner and easy to read, as the text is all placed on another background and not that of the image.

• Background: The background is white which provides a contrast to the black writing.• Colour Scheme: The colour is quite simple yet effective and follows on from the magazines cover, these

colours are black, red and white.• Table of Contents: The table of contents is very simple, this references to articles featured in the issue

How will my work will be influenced by these findings?

The technical magazine deconstruction has been important as it has given me an insight into the typical conventions of my chosen genre and also informed me on what I need to include in my magazine to make it attractive towards the audience. For example, the use of one bright colour being included in the colour scheme, and using mostly neutral colour based images with hints of the colour scheme on a light background to provide a contrast which will attract the audience. An another example of what I have learnt from this is to include at least one main image that exhibits the model looking directly into the camera to create eye contact with the audience.
