Operating a fully meshed network of Regional Grid substations with multiple directly connected hydro-power and other renewable generation sources creates a resilient and reliable grid. The 145 kV Norrbotten Regional Grid last had a significant outage in 1979.

The operator of this Regional Grid and hydropower system is Vattenfall, a Swedish state owned company with €17b revenues and 30,000 employees. The high- level overview of the utility system is shown in the accompanying diagram.

Multiple connectivity providers on siteHydro66 has two core DWDM POP’s on-site for the TDC international network. Telia/ Skanova have significant fibre assets inside Hydro66. EasyFibre are the 3rd fibre provider into the Hydro66 site and additional telco providers are currently at survey stage. For German clients we can interconnect with Cinia in Luleå, with a fast new route available through Finland and a brand new subsea cable C-LION landing to Rostock. RTT to Frankfurt ~30 ms. Facebook Luleå (30 km away) can help with private peering assuming sufficient traffic exists. IP transit and managed bandwidth services are also available direct from Hydro66.
