Composite IBCs. Possible development of additional material. Consider issues
associated with DOT requirements versus storage under NFPA 30. Consider
additional annex material.
Protection of distilled spirits in wooden barrels.
General purpose warehouse protection criteria – holdover from last revision cycle.
Issues with Tables 16.5.2.9 and 16.5.2.10 –
o Tables 16.5.2.9 & 16.5.2.10 allows for the storage of Class II & III liquids.
o Footnote (2) below 16.5.2.9 and footnote (1) below 16.5.2.10 require the IBC’s belisted and labeled in accordance with UL 2368, or an equivalent procedure.
o UL 2368 uses mineral seal oil and has a cc flash point of 245 oF. This is thereforea Class III B liquid.
o Based upon this fact, these tables should only be applicable to Class IIIB liquidsand not Class II or IIIA liquids
