    WHY TechCycle??Problem Statement:

    Increasing purchase power in Malaysia

Increasing amount of electronic wastes due to evolution of

    technology

Existence of a socio-economic gap whereby

underprivileged group are lack of access to basic education

    and training opportunities

The irresponsibly discarded mobile phones, computers and entertainment

devices and more that leaves not only our health vulnerable but the private

information and security of companies and individuals too. The need in

    Malaysia is great

Despite there being 37million registered units to recycle electronic items,

hazardous substances such as lead, mercury and cadmium are still being

dumped in landfills, leading to contamination. Voices are building up, to draw

attention to the need for responsible E-waste disposal and recycling, with

more than 100 youth from all over the world descending upon Malaysia tostart a movement from the ground up.
