Experiment
Materials needed:• camera• elliptical • running space• stethoscope • 1 person to run• 1 person to take pictures• 1 person to take pulse• a timer
Day 1(elliptical):
Colin’s original pulse: 70
Colin’s pulse after the elliptical for one minute: 97
Total amount that Colin’s pulse went up: 27
Day 2(running):
Colin’s original pulse: 97
Colin’s pulse after running for one minute: 116Total amount that Colin’s pulse went up: 19
Day 3 (elliptical):
• Colin’s original pulse: 83
•Colin’s pulse after the elliptical for one minute: 103
•Total amount that Colin’s pulse went up: 20
Day 4(running):
•Colin’s original pulse: 85
•Colin’s pulse after running for one minute: 107
•Total amount that Colin’s pulse went up: 22
Results
Day 1: 27Day2: 19Day 3: 20Day 4: 22
Average for elliptical 76.5 to 100
Average for running 91 to 111Elliptical: 23.5 change of pulseRunning: 20 change of pulse
Conclusion
Based on my results, my conclusion is that after one minute of exercise your pulse will increase more when training mechanically verses non-mechanically.
