ASTOUNDING INVENTIONS

Dear Parents,For many years IUSD students have participated in an exciting school

program competition called “ASTOUNDING INVENTIONS.” Your child is invited to let his or her imagination go wild to create something new and exciting. Everyone can be an inventor! Inventors are problem solvers! For more information, and access to all the files needed such as the inventor’s booklet, please refer to the IUSD site http://www.iusd.org/education_services/Science.htmlParental involvement is strongly encouraged; however, it is important that the invention ideas, illustrations, and descriptions are your child’s own. Parents are invited to assist children in making and photographing the invention model since the invention will be judged on the child’s ideas, not on the model. The greatest support you can offer is your enthusiastic interest in your child’s own unique ideas.Participation in the “Astounding Inventions Contest” is required for our 4th grade APAAS students. Our ASTOUNDING INVENTIONS CONVENTION will be held in P-9 and P-11 on Wed. January 10, 2018. Winners will have the opportunity to enter the district’s contest, which will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Irvine Valley College. These winning projects must be set up at IVC on Friday, January 26, 2018.

Please indicate below that you are aware that your child will be participating in this exciting event and return it to school by November 21st.
