There has always been an Internet
ramp onto the information
highway.
As they’ve grown up on websites and cell
phones, experts have constantly
fretted about their alleged deficits of
empathy and concentration.
Their school’s “blackboards”
have always been getting smarter.
Video games have always had
ratings.
Dial-up is soooooooooo last
century!
Music has always been available via free downloads.
Electric cars have always been humming in
relative silence on the road.
While they’ve been playing outside,
their parents have always worried about nasty new bugs borne by
birds and mosquitoes.
Public schools have always made space available for
advertising.
Their parents have always been able to create a will and other legal
documents online.
They’ve often broken up with their significant
others via texting, Facebook, or
MySpace.
Nurses have always been in short supply.
They won’t go near a retailer that
lacks a website.
“PC” has come to mean Personal Computer, not
Political Correctness.
They’re the first generation to grow up hearing about
the dangerous overuse of
antibiotics.
Women have always been
Venusians; men, Martians.

3.1 RATIONALE TECHNOLOGY
Library Databases
WorldCat • has world’s largest network of library
content and services• great for doing general searches to find out
what books, articles, videos, etc exist on a topic but sometimes too large and not specialized
ATLA Religion Database• Specialized database for articles, books and
book reviews identified as being about religion
• Great for topics that are obviously focused on religion and does include access to some fulltext articles but can be too narrow when topics bridge subjects.
