Why attend this training day?
The day provides practical teaching strategies for the teaching of advanced classes, with a focus on
Cambridge main suite exam preparation classes. The presenters will demonstrate a series of ideas
and approaches about how to get the most out of students at this level, how to motivate and inspire
them, and how to teach the different parts of Cambridge exams in an interesting and engaging way.
The focus will be on practical ideas that can be applied to CAE classes in particular, but also to
advanced classes in general.
Please note – this day is best suited to experienced teachers looking for fresh ideas and approaches.

About the trainers
Lewis Richards is a teacher-trainer based in Portsmouth. He has presented at over 30
conferences on ideas for teaching exams, including IATEFL and the English UK Teachers'
Conference. He is the co-author of 'IELTS Advantage Writing Skills' (DELTA, 2011).
Joel Burchett is an exam class specialist based at Portsmouth. He has written and
delivered Cambridge and IELTS training courses to teachers at Language Specialists
International, and specialises in teaching CAE reading and writing.
