This initiative is part of our commitment to Victorian teachers and will provide discounted teaching resources, up-to-date education news, advice and event information, and special teacher-only offers.

The feedback we have received from teachers over the years has led to this exciting initiative. We are confident this program will assist teachers to better plan their 2010 curriculum studies.

Teacher Resource Program 2010

TERM 1: Imax Ultimate DVD Collection (rrp:$40)Experience the wonder of Imax in your classroom with this fascinating series of eight DVDs.

Your students will be taken on a voyage to the International Space Station, experience the stunning beauty of the world’s oceans, be bewildered by the famed archipelago and surrounding waters of the Galapagos Islands and see first-hand the alarming destruction of our earth’s ecosystems.

Each Imax resource will include:

A CD ROM of primary and secondary worksheets and teachers’ notes containing interactive and ability- based activities. These worksheets will be written by experienced primary and secondary teachers for years 3-10.

A class delivery of the Herald Sun each day for eight days. Each newspaper will contain a giant bonus poster relating to an Imax DVD. The posters will complement the worksheets and DVD series.

Eight Imax Ultimate Collection DVDs. This DVD collection encapsulates the Imax big-screen experience via breathtaking cinematography, emotive soundtracks and experienced actors Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet and Morgan Freeman as narrators.

TERM 2: Learn Discovery Trail (rrp:$10)Your class can join the hunt for information during Term 2 with the Herald Sun. It’s a fun and interactive way of developing literacy and research skills and general knowledge.

Each Learn Discovery Trail pack will include:

An email of questions and answers each Tuesday of Term 2.

A class delivery of the Herald Sun (12 copies) each Tuesday for 11 weeks. Students will be directed to news, weather, World, Your Say, Business Daily, Learn and Sport.

TERM 3: Human Body (rrp:$50)Packed with amazing facts and detailed information, the Human Body education resource will introduce your students to the amazing organism that is the human body.

Each Human Body resource will include:

A CD ROM of primary and secondary worksheets and teachers’ notes containing interactive and ability- based activities. These worksheets will be written by experienced primary and secondary teachers for years 3 -10.

A class delivery of the Herald Sun. These newspapers will contain information relevant to the worksheets.

A DVD or magazine series that will cover a variety of topics and be useable year after year.

TERM 4: 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games (rrp:$50)The Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India will attract the attention of the world, so what better time to focus your studies on the VELS Health and Physical Education domain?

This resource will contain a plethora of worksheets and activi t ies specif ical ly written to help make the Delhi Commonwealth Games come alive in your classroom.

Each Commonwealth Games resource will include:

A workbook containing primary and secondary worksheets and activities.

A class delivery of the Herald Sun/ Sunday Herald Sun during October. Inside these newspapers you will find newspaper lift-outs containing pre and post-game summaries, previews, special reports, stories and photographs of the Australian team strivng for gold in Delhi.

Poster/s and/or medal stickers.
