Application and enrolment

All students must meet the basic University admission requirements. The Creative Media Production degree is an Open Entry programme so you do not need to supply a portfolio - just go to enrol.massey.ac.nz. You can enrol from 1 October - 5 December.

The Bachelor of Commercial Music

We are developing a Bachelor of Commercial Music, with majors in music practice, music technology and music industry, for delivery in 2016.

This exciting popular music programme will be staffed by some of the best musicians, technician/engineers and music business specialists in New Zealand, working from high-end industry standard recording, rehearsal and performance studios. Students of Creative Media Production and Commercial Music will have the opportunity to work together on creating music videos, live AV content, media campaigns and sound projects.

The Bachelor of Creative Media Production

The Bachelor of Creative Media Production is a unique interdisciplinary degree that gives you the opportunity to work across digital video, visual effects and motion graphics, computer animation and motion capture, audio production and sound design, web and mobile media, game development and animatronics.

This hands-on three-year degree gives you a competitive advantage. Media production is a growth industry that needs technically skilled artists and practitioners who can work creatively across a number of digital media production platforms.

You’ll also be working in an art school environment that enables you to explore and express your own voice and ideas through new forms of creative story telling. Award-winning academics and industry professionals will teach and mentor you, enabling you to gain essential insights about how the media entertainment industry operates.

The first year introduces you to techniques of story telling and the use of production tools for a number of different media. The second year develops these skills in real-world productions and other practice based cross-media projects. Your final year focuses on a major project set by a professional client. All of this goes into your portfolio for your benefit.
