Purpose of PortfoliosPortfolios are effective tools for documenting and assessing student achievement and teachers are using professional portfolios to document professional practices, competencies and accomplishments.

Portfolio Workshop Key TermsDevelopmental Portfolio-Provides a way for you to organize and store documentation that represents the progression of your developmental skills as an educator. Florida Educators Accomplished Practices- Professional experiences and activities related to teaching practices and competencies. Florida has identified three levels of mastery (Pre-professional, Professional and Accomplished). http://www.fldoe.org/dpe/publications/preprofessional4-99.pdfEvidence Sheet- TCP provided form which lists specifically what the evidence is that you are submitting for approval. (i.e. reflections) Rubric- An assessment tool for communicating expectations of quality.
