Page 2: TBG Project Postcards

The City of Austin commissioned TBG to plan and design a 54-acre park centered on Lady Bird Lake. The master plan employs pedestrian connections and vehicular circulation to integrate the park with downtown and adjacent neighborhoods. TBG’s landscape design features a main promenade that links a series of elements including a children’s sculptural garden, water features, a common lawn and an observation hill with 360 degree views of Austin.

As the centerpiece of the 90-acre Granite Park development in Plano, Granite Park III consists of a 14-story Class AA Office Tower, with adjacent structured parking and 45,000 square feet of retail. TBG developed a series of tiered lakes giving the illusion of a perch that gracefully elevates the building’s exterior and complements the tiered water steps formulating the lobby’s forecourt.

Utilizing the principles of New Urbanism, TBG developed a plan and landscape design for Plum Creek, a 2,200-acre walkable, mixed-use community in Kyle. The resulting, integrated community offers life cycle housing, excellent schools, employment opportunities, neighborhood retail and medical services, and a parks and open space system that establishes extensive communal connectivity. TBG is currently planning the community’s commercial district where a future transit center will make Plum Creek an attractive stop for the proposed Austin-San Antonio Intermunicipal Commuter Rail.

Derived from nostalgia for mid-century, small town America, TBG’s design for Market Street cre-ated a city center for The Woodlands. Through meticulous consideration of circulation factors, TBG developed a pedestrian-oriented cityscape utilizing native plants as buffers for two tiers of circula-tion. By incorporating a common lawn, known as Central Park, stylized courtyards and interactive water features, TBG reinforced the initial storyline instituting this city center’s unique character and punctuating Market Street’s essential purpose.

TBG’S landscape design for Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas fosters a curative environment for children. The design creates interior and exterior landscapes that radiate vitality and set a new standard for green development in hospital design. By incorporating six ecoregions encompassed by the 46 counties the hospital serves, TBG articulates a welcoming communal identity in its playful design. The Center is seeking LEED® Platinum certification and, if awarded, it will be the only Platinum medical facility in the world.
