Management director Tony Pollardhas the knowledge and experienceto provide all Bathurst residentswith the most up-to- date advice tominimise their tax.
Tony, who was born, raised andeducated in Bathurst, is a local whoknows local conditions.
As the end of the financial yearapproaches, Tony recommends businesses reduce their assessableincome in several ways.
These can range from delayingthe derivation of assessable incometo prepaying (up to 13 months) next
year’s expenses.“If you are expecting a tax refund
this year, you must nominate a bankaccount on your return,” he said.
“Also, if your adjusted taxableincome is less than $37,000 then incertain circumstances the ATO willtop up your super with an additional$500.
“There are many other steps anindividual or business can take and I would be more than pleased tohave a ‘no obligation’ talk with interested persons in order to helpthem.”

■ ■ ■ARE you interested in birds and
drawing? Then take a look at The Quintessential
Bird: The Art of Betty Temple Watts, by ViolaTemple Watts, published by the NationalLibrary of Australia.
This amazing lady started to recogniselocal flora and fauna in the 1940s andsketch them.
She joined the Bird Observers Club andthe Royal Australian Ornithologists Union(RAOU), now Birds Australia.
She was commissioned in 1958 by thePostmaster-General’s department to depicta black-backed magpie for a stamp.
Later, Betty’s designs were used for a fullseries of Australian bird stamps.
Seven pre-decimal stamps were issuedin 1964 and 1965 and eight decimal ones in1966, five of them converted from pre-decimal designs.
Betty was a humble woman withpatience and persistence. She had exceptional powers of observation, capturing the essential characters of a bird.
If you look at her artwork, the birds reallycome alive because they are not just sitting, they are feeding, flying, socialising andalways in action.
