Taste of Compassion fundraising event will raise over $100,000 through donations.  All funds raised support the programs offered by Mother's Refuge to shelter young, homeless pregnant and parenting moms and their babies. You get to be a part of restoring hope to so many young women.

About Mother's RefugeWe are a homeless shelter located in Jackson County, Missouri for pregnant and parenting young women between the ages of 12 and 21. Women can enter Mother's Refuge at any point in their pregnancy and stay in our home up to one year postpartum. Over the past 31 years, our home has provided shelter and assistance to more than 1,700 young women and their infants.  We provide:

MISSOURI TAX CREDITSBecause of the important work that we are doing, the State of Missouri-

Department of Social Services  has awarded Mother's Refuge a Maternity Home Tax Credit to leverage additional and increased support for individuals and

corporations with tax liability in the state of Missouri!   

Mother's Refuge offers  an additional 50% Missouri State Tax Credit to an eligible taxpayer who makes a  qualified contribution of $100 or more!

Your support of Mother's Refuge is a smart investment.

For a $10,000 gift, 35% tax bracket*:

MISSOURI TAX CREDITSMissouri State 50% Maternity Home  tax credits may be used by

businesses and individuals.

*The amount of the claimed tax credit may not exceed the amount of the taxpayer’s state income tax liability for the year the credit is being claimed and can not exceed fifty

thousand dollars ($50,000) per taxable year.

**Any tax credit that cannot be claimed in the tax year associated with the contribution may be carried forward and used against a taxpayer’s state tax liability the next tax year.
