My opening Credits follow the convention of any normal movie opening using bold text and a animated eye dent. Though these were common conventions I could not find any films that were similar in font style or eye dent.

The Black Swans opening scene was not necessarily the best comparison to my film but I think that the colours and movement is very similar to by film.

My film carries on with credits of conglomerates whereas Black swan begins naming producers, editors and actors. I wanted to change the conventions slightly by showing that we are more of an independent film showing that in the amount of ‘investors’ we will have had e.g. ‘Melville Pictures’, ‘Brade Entertainment ‘ and ’Harpoon Films’

MUSICIn both films I think music was used to create a quite depressing atmosphere, yet the audience still wants to know what's going to happen, and why this particular music has been used and especially for the beginning of a film which is usually one of the most memorable in a movie.

The song ‘What Now’ by Rihanna, is quite recent as it came out in 2013, it is a popular son within our target audience and as well as setting the mood I felt as though as soon as people hear it they will know that the film is aimed at them in a way.The song will also reflect all the conflict and decisions that Brooke will have to male throughout her journey in the film. A common question asked by people stuck in situation is ‘What now’ and we just thought the song would reflect this perfectly.

Finally………..

In comparison to Black Swan, ours has the same genre of Dance/Drama though ours is documenting the life of a young girl. I feel as though because The Black Swan is also about a girl in love with Ballet and ours is about a girl who was once in love with ballet that this was as close as it I could find.Because we have the same concept I believe this is why we have some of the same conventions, for example the use of the dark colours to create a sense of elegance, and also the slow music to create a certain atmosphere. The music used in both films both use pianos which also re enforces what I said previously about elegance used to remind the viewer about the ballet/dance theme.

I think the unique selling point of my film is that even though we have a specific audience age wise, we will always have a secondary audience of athletes and dancers, because we appeal to a niche audience we would have had more people viewing our film.
