The main masthead The masthead which has been used is a simple font masthead which may relate to the simplicity of the magazine. After the massive writing which says Mojo there is also a smaller writing which explains that it is a music magazine which Isn’t in clear detail but it works with, the main colour schemes which have been used to present the magazine data. Other Images As well as the main image other images were shown in order to reinforce the idea behind the magazine and it also promotes other artists that are still making new types pf music such as Mumford & sons, there is a picture which represents them and also other singers and song writers. Main Image The main image that is used has not been fully shown because the person on the front covers “Bob Marley” is such a huge icon and has been well known for his influence of reggae music to society whether of black heritage or not, he was loved all over the world and his music has been treasured even after his death in 1981.

The main cover line The main cover line which is use for the main featured attraction of the magazine article states “Inside his musical revolution BOB MARLEY” and as well as the main cover line being about him there is also a Rastafarian symbol which shows the time of cultural background he believed and grew up in which could also be a clever way of targeting the audience which have similar views as he does so thus they will be intrigued to buy and listen to such an icon. The cover line is on the left hand side of the cover page and so is most of the main image due to the dark background which surrounds him. The barcode The barcode has to be put on any professional magazine in order for it to be purchased in a retail shop, the tiny writing that come along with the barcode on top also shows the costumer the price of the magazine. Barcodes relate to the simple codes and conventions of any magazine.

There are different styles of magazines which could relate to the magazine I am interested in creating, such as beauty magazines, which are useful because some beauty magazines can be aimed at a specific genre of people, for example this beauty magazine is aimed at black young people, which can also be related to the type of magazine I would like to create, where the target audience is for young people not necessarily black, but individuals who are interested in a specific type of music that relates to them.

The main cover pictures which are used in these specifically aimed genres are attracted and it allows the audience to be drawn in because of the physical attraction which the individual gives off. The cover lines which surround the main image is eye catching and it allows the readers to be drawn in. The font styles which are used are quite consistent and the colour scheme which is used is free flowing and easy to understand.

These types of magazines attract target audiences of 16-25upwards due to the content which they offer and the diversity which is shown. Many black magazines are aimed at women, whereas my magazine will be aimed at both men and women because I very interested in different types of music due to the strong background I have which relates to different sorts of music within the afro-Caribbean world.
