Quincy Jones launched Vibe in 1993, in partnership with Time Inc.

It is a music and entertainment magazine.

On June 29th 2009 Vibe announced that it was going to stop publishing.

Vibe subscriptions : $14.99 for 2 years worth of magazines $9.99 for one year worth of magazines

Vibe magazine was aimed at the urban market which is 18 – 34 year olds who listened to music from the genres R&B , Hip Hop and Rap.

Though hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons was rumored to be an initial partner, publisher Len Burnett revealed in a March 2007 interview that Simmons clashed with editor-in-chief Jonathan Van Meter. Miller Publishing bought Vibe in 1996, and shortly afterward bought Spin. The private equity group The Wicks Group of Companies bought the magazine in 2006.

Quincy Jones launched Vibe in 1993, in partnership with Time Inc. Originally, the publication had been called Volume before co-founding editor, Scott Poulson-Bryant gave it the name Vibe.

I think The Wicks Group of Companies2 ‘miller group’ would make a suitable publisher for my magazine because of their portfolio of magazines vibe & spin which are very successful and their media links are I would say the best in the urban musical genres of Hip- Hop and R&B worldwide.
