TASC Facts
The Partners:
Girdwood Clinic:
A non-profit health care clinic serving Turnagain Arm. Expanding services and an aging building will require a new space in the near future.
Little Bears:
A non-profit childcare and early learning center. Little Bears currently is operating in a very small and old building with a year to year
lease from the Municipality. Additional hours of operation, ability to accommodate a wider age range, and special summer programs could be offered with a new and larger space.
Community and Recreation Center:
A new service that would provide our community with a safe all-weather place to gather and recreate. The facility will offer individual and family memberships as well as provide opportunities for other business and community organizations to expand their programs (Four Valleys Community Schools, Girdwood Fine Arts Camp, Challenge Alaska, and Alyeska Ski Club).

What progress has TASC made so far?
TASC was formed and formalized by a Memorandum of Agreement approved by the Girdwood Board of Supervisors (GBOS).
Heritage Land Bank has given us 6.8 acres for the facility located in Girdwood’s South Townsite (see map on right).
We are on the GBOS capital improvements list and will be requesting money from the state legislature in their next session.
Grant requests to other funding sources are being developed.
Ongoing community fundraisers and requests for community support.
We have preliminary conceptual design plans created by RIM Architects.
The Municipality of Anchorage supports this project.
