When First Nations people view artifacts at Glenbowthey see their own memories. Sometimes these are memories of the individuals who saw the items being used and knew their owners or makers. Sometimes they are nostalgic memories of an imagined past when there were no museums to house the relics of their culture. Always, they are memories of the dominant culture imposing its own values, judgments and definitions over the self-identity of the First Peoples.
