Target Audience

The audience for my media product will be of those you listen/ enjoy rock and metal music. This is usually between the ages of 13-30. With a large range of ages, it appeals to many and is a common genre music magazines. There is no specific gender who I expect to be reading my magazine as music is based on taste rather than appealing to genders. Stereotypically the dress sense for people buying rock magazines would be, a beanie hat, skinny jeans, t-shirt, hoodie and shoes such as, vans.

The man in the image would be the target audience for my magazine as he conveys the type of style that would stereotypically read my magazine. The hoodie that he is wearing is a fashion piece that fit the genre of my magazine as it connotes skateboarders and of the rock stereotype.

The person in the image represents the rock genre as he has visible tattoos which has always conveys the rock scene. The hat he is wearing is heavily associated with skateboarding which is a recognised as apart of a rock style.

This picture connotes rock music as the man has many tattoos and is smoking which is associated with the “rock and roll” scene.

The woman in the picture would be a part of the target audience for my magazine because she has a rock style. She has visible tattoos, dark eye make-up and dark hair which connotes rock.

The girl in the image would be in the social group for my target audience because the fashion she follows has conventions of the rock genre. Firstly, fish-net tights are heavily associated with rock music and black shoes, for example, doc martins are too.

The person in this image is wearing a rock band, t-shirt ‘ Kiss’ which would instantly show that she would be in the target audience for my magazine. She is also wearing all dark clothing with is a convention for the rock genre.
