By Caroline PurtleMath 69-29-10
My Problem:• Snooki has a tanning salon named
Tan Band. The bills to keep it open cost $1,000 a month. If each tan cost $50 per person and she has $150 more to pay her employees with, how will she make at the end of the month??
EQUATION
1,000-(50x-150)= Y
Variables
• Independent- The number of tans.
• Dependent- The cost of the bill.
The cost of the bill depends on the number of tans.
IS THIS A FUNCTION?
Yes because It passes the vertical line test!
Definition
Domain:• The set of all possible input
values of relation or function
Range:• The y-value
Is the domain continuous or discrete?Continuous because there is no stopping point it can go on forever.
Equation: 1,000-(50x-150)Function notation: f(x)=1,000-(50x-150)
