Kerala Tourism successfully concludes b2b meets in the USEfforts made by Kerala Tourism to a�ract American tourists have proved to be a hit with the official team from the state tourism department successfully comple�ng B2B meets in

the United States. Led by Kerala Tourism Director Sri P Balakiran IAS, the delega�on successfully organised three road shows so as to lure tourists from the United States, to Kerala.

As many as three shows were undertaken in the three different ci�es of New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Sri Sandeep Chakaborty, Hon'ble Consul General, presided over

the New York road show, while MsSandyaHaridas, Assistant Director, India Tourism, a�ended the road shows at San Francisco and Los Angeles. Kerala Tourism also par�cipated in

the New York Times Travel Show, where the huge tourism poten�al that Kerala offers too travelers from around the world, including the US, was discussed. The des�na�on

awareness programs and B2B mee�ngs were overwhelming successes.

Andhra Pradesh Tourism working on six marquee projectsAndhra Pradesh Tourism Department is now working on six marquee projects which offer tremendous growth and poten�al for investments. This was informed to par�cipants at a

panel discussion on tourism on the opening day of the three-day CII Partnership Summit by AP Tourism Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena. He said that the Special Tourism Zone at

Madhurawada and INS Virat aircra� carrier museum in Visakhapatnam, Havelock Bridge in Rajahmundry, Bhavani Island in the middle of Krishna river in Vijayawada, Kakinada Hope

Island under Swadesh Darshan scheme in East Godavari district, and Gandikota Fort in Guntur district would be developed with private par�cipa�on. The major challenge iden�fied

is availability of infrastructure. In terms of domes�c tourism, Andhra Pradesh is number three in the country a�er Tamil Nadu and U�ar Pradesh. “It would not contribute to the

economy unless and un�l we increase the length of stay of tourists which can be done by crea�ng the infrastructure and make their stay enjoyable.

Goa's Shigmo fes�vi�es to kick-start from March 3A�er a successful Carnaval celebra�on, Goa is set to usher in Shigmo – a fes�val of colour, costumes and culture scheduled from March 3-17, 2018, beginning with the celebra�on of

Holi. During the Shigmo parades, one gets a chance to take a glimpse at the life of a Goan which is depicted in elaborate folk performances by local men and women dancing

�relessly in huge processions. Tradi�onal folk dances and performance of mythological scenes is the highlight of this parade. On the day of Shigmo, people in Goa are dressed up in

colourful ou�its, holding mul�-coloured flags and playing musical instruments like the Dhol Tasha and flutes in processions across the ci�es along with floats that parade through the

streets. Folk dances like Ghode Modni and Fugdi are performed on the streets in massive troupes along the procession. An interes�ng element of the Shigmo is the tradi�on of

covering each other with colourful powder and bright paints. The float parade is organised across different ci�es of Goa like Ponda, Margao, Vasco, Sanguem, Sanquelim, Valpoi,

Bicholim, Panjim, Mapusa, Pernem, Canacona, Quepem, Curchorem, Cuncolim and Dharbandora.

UP Govt signs MoU with Srei Advisory to rejuvenate AgraSrei Advisory, a division of Srei Infrastructure Finance and the Department of Infrastructure and Industrial Development, Government of U�ar Pradesh, have signed an MoU to

rejuvenate Agra as an iconic tourist-cum-holiday des�na�on. The proposal is expected to a�ract investments of around Rs 25,000 crore in U�ar Pradesh. The project will accentuate

Agra's historical, cultural and heritage contours, promote lesser known monuments and temples, and expand tourists' focal point from the Taj Mahal to all the three World Heritage

sites in the city. Dr Ra�ranjan Mandal, Senior Advisor, Srei Advisory, said, “The Taj Mahal draws millions of tourists to Agra every year. Hence, we have a responsibility to ensure that

the city is as good as you have heard. Also, the Taj Mahal is not the sole a�rac�on. The legacy of the Mughal Empire has le� a magnificent fort and several mausoleums. We would

be interested in more such opportuni�es to develop holis�c infrastructure facili�es in the state.” The project will create necessary infrastructure in hospitality, transport, city and

river front beau�fica�on, logis�c parks and warehousing with ac�ve support from the Government of U�ar Pradesh. The project is expected to commence opera�ons in 2018-19,

subject to necessary statutory approvals and clearances.

TULIP FESTIVAL

A resplendent fes�val celebrated with a grand display of caparisoned elephants, dazzling parasols, and percussion music, the Thrissur Pooram is a magnificent spectacle merging the spiritual and cultural essence of Kerala. The grandest of all Kerala temple fes�vals, the Thrissur Pooram features a procession of around 30 colorfully decorated elephants and ensemble of 250 musicians. Other a�rac�ons include drum concerts, ornamental parasol displays, and fireworks. The fes�val is a huge cultural event that runs through the night with exuberant celebra�ons. Special viewing areas are provided for foreigners at the fes�val.

Tamarind Global managed and executed a lavish 3-days wedding at the

Palazzo Versace, Dubai and Qasr Al Sultan, Dubai in early February. The

baarat welcome and dinner featured Dhabka dancers and décor for this

event with the classic purple Versace linen and chairs all across the ballroom.

Entertainment for the evening was by ROOH – a local band from Dubai. This

was followed by a Live DJ set by DJ Vicky from India. The mehendi and

carnival took place at the Ischia Pool, Palazzo Versace. Colourful umbrellas

and drapes dominated. The musical night in the evening was the highlight of

the wedding and took place at Qasr Al Sultan, a bou�que hotel with an

Arabic village themed set up. Arabic dance performances, tannoura dancers

and belly dancers entertained the guests. Adil Hussaini then gave a beau�ful

and soulful performance followed by the DJ. The U�ar-Dakshin lunch was

enlivened by the family Sangeet performances. The entrance of the venue

was a giant life-size gopuram, and the ballroom was embedded with a 36 �.

stage and 18� high LED wall. All elements of decor and the dress code was in

keeping with the North-South theme. The wedding itself was spectacular. A

massive 80 feet by 80 feet mandap was created over the pool with the

backdrop of the Dubai Creek, and was constructed with over 30000 crystal

pieces on top supported by glass pillars and a garden full of hydrangeas.

Tamarind Global handled the turnkey wedding from hospitality, logis�cs and

entertainment to produc�on and event management.

It was yet another successful management and par�cipa�on by Tamarind Global at

SATTE 2018. The 3-day event was held at Praga� Maidan New Delhi between 31st

Jan to 2 Feb Tamarind Global also managed the en�re Logis�cs and Accommoda�on

of the event. At the event, we had our own stall and also managed the travel desk.

Over the period of these 3 days, the event saw a foo�all of 30000 on an average per

day. About 3000 guests visited our stall over the dura�on of the event. Tamarind

Global was represented by Prabhakar Kamat, Amal Senan, Jignesh Pandit, Sameer

Kapadi, Hemant Karande and Prashant Bhaingade.

Exotic wedding at Pallazzo Versace Dubai by Tamarind team.

Our events team successfully handled a 3-day 25th-anniversary celebra�on in

Mumbai. The décor theme for day one was tuberoses, which adorned the en�re

home for the first event. Day two was cocktails and dinner held at Taj Lands'

End. The key décor elements included a three layered floral installa�on with

candles and a 3-foot ice installa�on. The Entertainment for the evening was by

Allwyn- a solo ar�st who performed singing retro, English and Bollywood songs.

Day three was Lohri, and was celebrated at the family farmhouse " Nanikrami

Farms". The event was mainly a family get together that consisted of Kirtan and

Langar. A typical Punjab village set up was created with carts, kha�yaas, dhol

players and a swing. A Punjabi flau�st -Baljinder Singh performed devo�onal

and popular Bollywood melodies during the event. Tamarind Global was tasked

with design, produc�on, technicals, ar�sts and event management of the event.

The event was led by Namha Malhotra and Team from Tamarind Global.

The event was held at Great Room & Lawns of The Four Seasons Hotel for 250

guests. The theme was an "enchanted forest" with a Lotus being the key

element. The venue was decorated with customized creepers with leaves and

lotus flowers, to give a forest feel. A large personalized storybook installa�on

was created as the entrance gateway to the venue that was 5 feet by 9 feet in

size. A harpist played during the welcome to set the mood for the evening as the

guests socialized and congratulated the couple. The highlights of the evening

consisted of a flash mob by the youngsters of the family, dance performances by

family and friends of the couple, a fun guessing and cap�ons game based on the

couple’s pictures, a montage AV of the couple's journey, cake cu�ng, dinner and

a DJ to provide entertainment and music. Tamarind Global handled the

produc�on, show running, decor and designing, hospitality and logis�cs. The

event was led by Dhruv Arora and Team from Tamarind Global.
